Senior Accountant
Location: Chabanel, Montreal (Ahuntsic-Cartierville)
Salary: Up to $95K + Vacation + Group Insurance + Parking + More
The Opportunity
An established company in the fashion and apparel industry is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers a variety of responsibilities across financial reporting, inventory accounting, analysis, and month-end closing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
- Manage month-end closing, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger reviews.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including goods in transit, supplier advances, and inventory valuations.
- Perform gross margin analysis and monitor key financial metrics.
- Review expenses and investigate financial variances.
- Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Assist with year-end closing and audit preparation.
- Prepare financial reports, analyses, and reconciliations.
- Support management with special projects and collaborate with other departments.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and month-end processes.
- Experience with inventory accounting is an asset.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, discreet, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Apparel or retail industry experience is an asset.
