Role Description This full-time, on-site role is based in Hamilton, ON, and is open to both Senior and Intermediate Controls Engineers / PLC Programmers. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based control systems for industrial automation projects. The role involves developing control strategies, configuring HMIs and SCADA systems, and integrating motion control, robotics, and process control solutions. Team members will diagnose and resolve control system issues, perform on-site integration and optimization, and prepare technical documentation such as functional specifications, I/O lists, and training documents. Collaboration with project managers, electricians, and mechanical teams is required to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant installations that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Process Control for industrial automation, including development and tuning of control strategies and loops.
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering principles related to control systems, panel design, and industrial power and signal wiring.
• Proven Troubleshooting skills for PLCs, sensors, drives, networks, and field devices in complex automation environments.
• 5 years+ experience within related field
• Experience with Motion Control systems, including servo drives, VFDs, and coordinated multi-axis motion applications.
• Hands-on Robotics experience with programming, integration, and commissioning of industrial robots and related safety systems.
• Proficiency with PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition), HMIs, and SCADA systems; experience with industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.) is an asset.
• Ability to read and create electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation; familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to safety, quality, and project deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site with cross-functional project teams and clients.
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls, or a related field
