Assistant Financial Controller

We're on the hunt for an Assistant Financial Controller. You'll be the go-to person for month-end close, internal controls and performance analysis at a fast-growing company. If you're a CPA who can't stand repetitive manual work and feels just as at home in NetSuite as in a financial model and love a good challenge, we want to meet you!

About Us: Evvo is a dynamic clean-tech company that has grown by over 700% in the last five years. We lean on circular economy principles to make mobile device management a breeze for big companies and governments. We help stretch the lifespan of smartphones and tablets while lightening the load for our clients' IT teams - what we call delegated device management. Thanks to our tech and management processes, our clients see real savings, tighter data security, and free up their IT folks for more strategic projects.

At Evvo, we thrive on ambitious, high-impact ideas. We aim to revolutionize our industry, become the market leader, and save the planet - one electronic device at a time.

What You Will Do

Own the monthly and annual close of the financial statements.
Lead AI adoption within the Finance department: identify use cases, roll out tools and coach the team. Automate recurring tasks with AI, then document procedures.
Prepare and remit GST/QST, HST and other taxes and levies, with no late filings or penalties.
Supervise, train and coach our Accounting Technician.
Support the Finance Director on the annual budget, the 3-year financial model and forecasts. Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
Design and roll out, with department managers, an automated KPI dashboard for every department.
Review customer billing and vendor payment processes, as well as internal controls.
Analyze margins by product and by customer, automate price list updates, and maintain the vendor contract tracking tool.
Run the full grant cycle: program monitoring, eligibility, applications, claims and reporting.
Support the Finance Director on special projects, such as tenders and the financial review of potential acquisition targets.

What We Are Looking For

CPA designation and at least 4 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
Strong command of ASPE, month-end close and ERP systems.
Interest in technology and using Artificial Intelligence.
Any experience in an SME, in an acquisition context or with NetSuite is an asset.
Sharp analytical judgment and comfort with financial modelling.
Bilingual in French and English.
Autonomous, resourceful and committed to continuous improvement.
Passionate about making a positive impact on the environment.

What we offer you:

🌴 Minimum of 3 weeks vacation + additional time off during the holiday season.
🏢 Flexible hybrid work (2 days per week in the office) in modern offices located in the Old Port of Montreal
🏥 Group insurance and RRSP
👩‍⚕️ 24/7 online access to a doctor for you and your family
💻 Top-tier tech and AI tools so you can perform at your full potential.
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Humans first: scheduling flexibility for the unexpected, a listening ear, and victories we celebrate together. Here, you are not a number.
🎉 Team events, happy hours, and celebrations for our major successes
🌱 Be part of a dynamic and dedicated team, committed to creating tools and solutions that make a real difference for our planet.

What to expect next? We value your time and clear communication. Here are the steps in our hiring process:

Discovery Interview (30 min): A phone discussion with our talent acquisition lead to get to know each other, discuss the role and your aspirations

Interview with your future manager (1h): A more in-depth discussion via video conference with the manager to go into more detail about the role and your experiences.

Final Meeting & Practical Test (1h30): A technical interview in our offices with two members of our team to validate your reflexes and skills in a real situation and, of course, meet your future colleagues.

Job Offer, References & Background Check: The moment we've been waiting for! We make you an offer, speak with your references, and conduct a background check.

Onboarding: Welcome to Evvo ! We've prepared everything for a smooth arrival: your tools are waiting for you, and the team is excited to meet and train you so you can thrive quickly.

Our Hiring Philosophy: We like to keep things moving! We commit to keeping you informed, regardless of the outcome; here, we don't "ghost" anyone. We aim for a thorough and rigorous evaluation, but always efficient.
