Accounting & Administrative Technician

We're on the hunt for an Accounting & Administrative Technician. You'll be the go-to person for day-to-day accounting (payables, receivables, payroll) and the operations of our Montreal office. If you're detail-oriented, organized and just as comfortable with numbers as with people and love a good challenge, we want to meet you!

About Us: Evvo is a dynamic clean-tech company that has grown by over 700% in the last five years. We lean on circular economy principles to make mobile device management a breeze for big companies and governments. We help stretch the lifespan of smartphones and tablets while lightening the load for our clients' IT teams - what we call delegated device management. Thanks to our tech and management processes, our clients see real savings, tighter data security, and free up their IT folks for more strategic projects.

At Evvo, we thrive on ambitious, high-impact ideas. We aim to revolutionize our industry, become the market leader, and save the planet - one electronic device at a time.

What You Will Do

Take part in the monthly close with the Financial Controller by preparing supporting documents, analyses and recurring entries.
Manage accounts payable and receivable end to end: on-time vendor payments, customer communication, and follow-up on overdue accounts.
Be a leader in AI adoption within the Finance department: spot automation opportunities, improve our processes and help the team adopt new tools.
Run payroll, including vacation and sick leave, and file payroll-related government returns.
Prepare monthly sales tax remittances and other government filings, meeting all deadlines.
Handle the setup of new customer and vendor files, from collecting documents to creating them in the accounting system.
Apply internal controls, manage expense reports and flag any anomaly to the Financial Controller.
Keep NetSuite data accurate and the Finance Google Drive organized.
Run the Montreal office: building manager liaison, deliveries, mail and supplies.
Be the go-to contact for benefits and leave policies, coordinate business travel and support new hire onboarding.

What We Are Looking For

DEC or AEC in accounting (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience with accounts payable and receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations.
Any experience in an SME, in an acquisition context or with NetSuite is an asset.
Interest in technology and using Artificial Intelligence.
Detail-oriented, organized and deadline-driven.
Discreet, with a strong sense of confidentiality.
Bilingual in French and English.
Passionate about making a positive impact on the environment.

What we offer :

🌴 Minimum of 3 weeks vacation + additional time off during the holiday season.
🏢 Flexible hybrid work (2 days per week in the office) in modern offices located in the Old Port of Montreal
🏥 Group insurance and RRSP
👩‍⚕️ 24/7 online access to a doctor for you and your family
💻 Top-tier tech and AI tools so you can perform at your full potential.
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Humans first: scheduling flexibility for the unexpected, a listening ear, and victories we celebrate together. Here, you are not a number.
🎉 Team events, happy hours, and celebrations for our major successes
🌱 Be part of a dynamic and dedicated team, committed to creating tools and solutions that make a real difference for our planet.

What to expect next? We value your time and clear communication. Here are the steps in our hiring process:

Discovery Interview (30 min): A phone discussion with our talent acquisition lead to get to know each other, discuss the role and your aspirations

Interview with your future manager (1h): A more in-depth discussion via video conference with the manager to go into more detail about the role and your experiences.

Final Meeting & Practical Test (1h30): A technical interview in our offices with two members of our team to validate your reflexes and skills in a real situation and, of course, meet your future colleagues.

Job Offer, References & Background Check: The moment we've been waiting for! We make you an offer, speak with your references, and conduct a background check.

Onboarding: Welcome to Evvo ! We've prepared everything for a smooth arrival: your tools are waiting for you, and the team is excited to meet and train you so you can thrive quickly.

Our Hiring Philosophy: We like to keep things moving! We commit to keeping you informed, regardless of the outcome; here, we don't "ghost" anyone. We aim for a thorough and rigorous evaluation, but always efficient.
