Retail Sales Manager

📍 Burlington, Ontario (In-Office / Full-Time)

💼 Expedia Cruises – Burlington South (#teamfriesen)

About #teamfriesen

#teamfriesen is a dynamic, collaborative network of 20 franchise locations operating under the prestigious Expedia Cruises banner. While each storefront deeply connects with its local community, we operate as one unified retail powerhouse. Our locations are backed by a robust regional leadership team and a centralized support structure that delivers top-tier marketing, operations, and specialized training services across the entire organization.

We are currently seeking an energetic, results-driven Retail Sales Manager to lead our established storefront team at 4019 New Street, Burlington, ON.

Role Overview

As the Retail Sales Manager, you will drive the day-to-day sales leadership, recruitment, and operational success of our team of independent Cruise Consultants. You are a natural motivator who can mentor both budding and veteran travel consultants, fostering an energetic, high-performance team culture.

Working closely with #teamfriesen regional leadership and our centralized support teams, you will execute localized marketing strategies, set ambitious sales targets, and build long-term revenue growth in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership & Performance: Oversee daily sales operations, tracking team metrics to ensure individual and storefront targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Talent Recruitment & Coaching: Actively recruit passionate new travel consultants. Provide ongoing coaching, hands-on mentorship, and sales training to set them up for long-term success.
  • Team Motivation: Cultivate an inspiring, collaborative, and high-energy office culture that keeps independent consultants engaged and driven.
  • Strategic Marketing Execution: Implement company-wide campaigns alongside local marketing initiatives to consistently generate fresh leads and client walk-ins.
  • Community & Supplier Engagement: Host engaging supplier presentations and consumer travel events, both virtually and in-person, to boost brand visibility.
  • Regional Collaboration: Collaborate with the broader #teamfriesen network to share best practices and support regional growth initiatives.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends to support events and business needs.
  • Based out of the Burlington office with regional support responsibilities.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, growth-minded leader who possesses a genuine passion for sales leadership and the travel industry. You excel at prospecting, building authentic relationships, and inspiring independent contractors to reach their full entrepreneurial potential. You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment and lead by example.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of successful sales experience (prior experience in the travel, hospitality, or tourism industry is considered a strong asset).
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing, mentoring, or leading a sales team to success.
  • Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to prioritize effectively and thrive in a high-velocity, fast-paced business environment.
  • Organization: Strong operational, time-management, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Compliance: TICO Manager Certification is considered a major asset (or a strong willingness to obtain it upon hire).
