Job Title: Business Domain Architect / SME
Duration: Till 07/30/2027
Location: Downtown Toronto - 4x week onsite
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Domain Architect / SME to provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and domain expertise. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, solution architects, and technical teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert for the assigned business domain.
- Define and maintain domain architecture strategies and roadmaps.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Establish architecture standards, best practices, and governance.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, and engineering teams.
- Review solution designs to ensure scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
- Work with business leaders and stakeholders to identify technology needs.
- Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and impact analyses.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including implementation, testing, and production deployment.
- Identify opportunities for digital transformation and technology modernization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Mentor architects, analysts, and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in Domain Architecture or SME roles.
- Strong understanding of business processes, domain models, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Experience designing large-scale enterprise solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices.
