Financial Project Analyst

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – every Monday and the first Friday of each month onsite

Duration: 4 months, with possibility of extension and conversion to permanent

Pay Rate: $62/hour INC or $53/hour T4

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variance analysis.
  • Perform GL reconciliations, accruals, chargebacks, and invoice tracking.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Monitor project financials, risks, issues, and action items.
  • Support resource allocation, headcount tracking, and financial governance.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and provide insights.
  • Develop and improve operational processes and documentation.
  • Support user onboarding and troubleshooting for project financial management tools.
  • Prepare executive presentations and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across multiple workstreams.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in project coordination, PMO, business effectiveness, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in project/program financial management.
  • Hands-on experience with GL reconciliation, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Strong financial reporting and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with process improvement and documentation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have hands-on experience with reconciliations, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis, along with advanced Excel, PowerPoint proficiency, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
