About the Company Export Packers Company Limited is a multi-faceted, growth-oriented international food company. Role Summary Reporting to the Director of Sales and Operational Excellence, the Business Operations Analyst will serve as a key financial and analytical partner to the Canadian Foodservice Division, providing financial insight, analysis and tools required to support profitable growth and informed commercial decision making. The role will have a strong focus on customer pricing, profitability, category insights, financial modeling, forecasting, inventory optimization and P&L performance. Working closely with sales, procurement, finance, marketing, and operations, this role develops and maintains customer price lists, analyzes customer and product margins, conducts category analysis, evaluates pricing and cost changes, supports customers RFP’s and new business opportunities, evaluates and recommends regional inventory positions, warehouse transfer efficiency and incoming load efficiencies. The Commercial Financial Analyst combines strong financial and analytical skills with practical commercial acumen and understands how pricing, volume product mix, freight, inventory, rebates, and customer programs impact the profitability of the Foodservice marketplace.

Responsibilities

Serve as the financial business partner to the Foodservice Sales and Marketing leadership team.
Develop, maintain, and analyze customer price lists and pricing structures across the Foodservice Division.
Build pricing and profitability models incorporating product cost, freight, duties, currency, inventory, working capital, rebates, billbacks and other customer-specific costs.
Evaluate the profitability and financial return of new contracts and RFPs on contract renewals, extensions and new business opportunities.
Partner with Sales and Marketing to assess volume, pricing and margin scenarios before commercial commitments are made.
Develop dashboards and reporting metrics on customer, product, category and sales performance.
Analyze customer and product profitability and identify opportunities to improve gross margin and contribution.
Analyze price, volume and mix changes and their impact on Foodservice profitability.
Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and customer patterns to improve demand forecasts.
Review volume trends to plan and identify root causes of forecast variances.
Develop reporting on forecast performance at customer, category, SKU and regional levels.
Identify trends early to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Serve as primary inventory liaison for the senior sales team, coordinating inventory requirements and availability with Demand Planning and Supply Chain, monitoring purchase orders and inbound supply, and proactively identifying and addressing inventory gaps to optimize stock and service levels.
Monitor inbound container activity, truckload and import schedules to optimize inventory placement.
Review transfer activity between warehouses and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Recommend product allocation strategies that minimize transfers, freight expense and out-of-stock issues.
Monitor safety stock requirements and recommend adjustments based on demand patterns.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
Experience within Foodservice, CPG, food manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or other high volume commercial environment is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working cross functionally with Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement teams.
Strong understanding of revenue, COGS, gross profit, gross margin, contribution margin and operating expenses.
Ability to perform detailed price, volume and mix analysis.
Strong understanding of pricing structures within a Foodservice/Distribution environment.
Experience in evaluating pricing proposals, RFP’s and tenders.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, PivotTables and financial modeling.
Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence/dashboarding platforms.\
Understanding of demand planning, forecasting and inventory management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market insights to drive business decisions.
This position is based in a professional office setting, with work primarily performed at a desk using a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment.
