Reporting to the Senior Manager, Immigration Operations, the Immigration Operations Advisor serves as a strategic workforce planning advisor and subject matter expert in immigration operations. Working at the intersection of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and business operations, this role helps leaders make informed workforce decisions by assessing immigration-related opportunities and risks that impact recruitment, retention, workforce stability, and business continuity. The Advisor translates complex immigration requirements into practical business recommendations and partners with operational leaders to support sustainable workforce strategies across the organization.
This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape a newly established Immigration Operations function. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining best practices, influencing workforce strategy, and partnering leaders across the organization while gaining exposure to complex HR, workforce planning and business challenges.
This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Partner with business leaders, HR, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and operational stakeholders to support recruitment, retention and workforce planning initiatives where immigration considerations may impact business outcomes.
Develop reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to support business leaders in understanding workforce composition, permit expiry risks, retention considerations and immigration program utilization
Develop and maintain immigration-related processes, tools, policies, training materials and operational guidance documentation.
What we’re looking for:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, Immigration, Law, Public Administration, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in HR advisory, workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, immigration operations, global mobility, compliance, or other business partnering role requiring stakeholder consultation and risk assessment related advisory capacity.
RCIC designation, immigration consulting experience, Workday knowledge, or workforce strategy experience are considered assets.
