Original job description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

EY's Infrastructure Advisory team is one of Canada's leading advisors on major infrastructure investments, helping governments, investors, developers and infrastructure owners make better decisions across the full lifecycle of complex capital projects.

As part of EY-Parthenon, you will join a market-leading Toronto team advising on some of Canada's largest and most transformative infrastructure initiatives. Our current mandates include Canada's first high-speed rail system (ALTO), major interprovincial energy corridor initiatives, provincial infrastructure planning programs, passenger rail strategies, healthcare infrastructure developments, and large-scale social infrastructure investments.

Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, policy, commercial structuring, procurement, financing and project delivery. We help clients answer some of their most important questions: What should be built? How should it be funded? Who should bear risk? What delivery model will create the greatest long-term value?

This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with senior government officials, infrastructure owners, developers, investors and lenders on projects that shape how Canadians move, live and work. You will gain exposure across the infrastructure lifecycle, develop deep commercial and financial expertise, and take on meaningful client-facing responsibility from day one.

We are a collaborative, entrepreneurial and growing team that values intellectual curiosity, independent thinking and practical problem solving. Individuals are given significant responsibility, opportunities to build client relationships, and the ability to contribute to the future growth and direction of our practice.

This job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.

Your key responsibilities

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Infrastructure Advisory team as either an Associate or Senior Associate (Manager), with a focus on the strategic, commercial and financial aspects of major infrastructure projects.

You will work alongside experienced practitioners across a broad range of engagements spanning:

Strategic planning and infrastructure policy development
Business cases and investment decision support
Commercial and financial structuring
Procurement and transaction advisory
Alternative funding and delivery model assessments
Infrastructure financing and capital markets advisory
Asset management, renewal and long-term value optimization

You will play an active role in delivering high-quality client engagements, managing workstreams, building client relationships, developing junior team members, and contributing to business development activities across the practice.

Skills and attributes for success

You are:

Passionate about infrastructure and motivated by solving complex strategic, commercial and financial challenges
Analytically rigorous, intellectually curious and comfortable navigating ambiguity
A strong problem solver who can combine quantitative analysis with practical commercial judgment
An effective communicator capable of presenting complex ideas clearly to executive audiences
Collaborative, personable and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to excellence
Able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail
Experienced in developing high-quality reports, presentations and client deliverables
Comfortable working directly with clients and building trusted relationships
Interested in mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive team culture
Motivated to contribute to business development and bring insights on emerging infrastructure and capital market trends

To qualify for the role

You will have:

An undergraduate degree in business, commerce, economics, engineering, law or a related discipline
Associate: 4+ years of relevant experience
Senior Associate: 6+ years of relevant experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas:

Major capital project planning, development or delivery
Commercial advisory and project structuring
Alternative delivery or funding model assessments
Financial analysis, economic analysis or financial modelling
Infrastructure transactions, project finance or capital markets
Business case development and investment decision support

Preferred qualifications

Experience working across the infrastructure sector, including professional services, project developers, owners/operators, government agencies, investors, lenders, pension funds, engineering firms and project delivery organizations.
Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including advanced financial or economic modelling, infrastructure financing, project finance, debt capital markets, and financial analysis.
Experience supporting major investment decisions, infrastructure transactions, procurement processes, financing mandates, or capital project delivery initiatives.
Advanced academic credentials or professional designations such as an MBA, Master's degree, CFA, CBV or equivalent.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and mentoring junior professionals.
Knowledge of infrastructure procurement, commercial structuring, commercial contracts and major project delivery models (e.g., DBB, DB, CMAR, PDB, Alliance, P3).
Exposure to Indigenous participation, Indigenous equity investment, Indigenous-led infrastructure initiatives, or engagement with Indigenous rights holders.

What we look for

We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, analytical, logical thinkers with a passion for Infrastructure Advisory and have a very strong attention to detail. Being a strong team player is critical with the ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines in support of our clients goals

What we offer you

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. In addition, our Total Rewards package allows you decide which benefits are right for you and which ones help you create a solid foundation for your future. Our Total Rewards package includes a discretionary bonus program, a comprehensive medical, prescription drug and dental coverage plan, a defined contribution pension plan, a great vacation policy plus firm paid days that allow you to enjoy longer long weekends throughout the year, statutory holidays and paid personal days (based on province of residence), and a range of exciting programs and benefits designed to support your physical, financial and social well-being.
