Original job description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

Transfer pricing sits at the intersection of tax, economics and business strategy. As a Senior Tax Staff in our Transfer Pricing practice, you will take an active role in helping multinational organizations analyze how value is created across their operations and translate that analysis into practical, defensible transfer pricing positions. You will work with economists and tax professionals across Canada and EY’s global network on documentation, planning, audit defence and process improvement projects, while coordinating workstreams and supporting the development of junior team members.

This job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.

Your key responsibilities

Lead defined workstreams within transfer pricing engagements, from scoping and information gathering through analysis, documentation and delivery.
Analyze complex financial, operational and industry information and translate findings into practical transfer pricing conclusions.
Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation, planning analyses, advance pricing arrangement submissions and audit defence materials.
Research and evaluate comparable companies and transactions, applying sound judgment to the selection and interpretation of data.
Develop clear work products and present findings to engagement teams and client stakeholders.
Coordinate with colleagues across tax, economics and other disciplines to deliver integrated client work.
Monitor project progress, identify risks or gaps early and help teams meet quality and timeline expectations.
Delegate and review work completed by junior and global delivery team members, providing practical guidance and feedback.
Identify opportunities to use data, automation and technology to improve transfer pricing processes and deliverables.

Skills and attributes for success

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess detailed information and form well-supported conclusions.
Proven organization and project coordination skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and changing deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience adapting technical information for different audiences.
The ability to work collaboratively, take ownership of deliverables and provide direction to junior team members.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

A post-secondary degree in economics, accounting, finance, business, mathematics, data analytics or a related field, or a relevant professional designation.
Two or more years of relevant experience in transfer pricing, tax, economics, finance, accounting, consulting or a related area.

Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience in transfer pricing documentation, planning, audit defence or advance pricing arrangements.
Experience using data visualization, automation or AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve research, analysis or reporting.

What we look for

We’re looking for analytical professionals who can move comfortably between detailed research and the broader business context. You’ll bring sound judgment, accountability and a collaborative approach, along with the confidence to explain your thinking and help others strengthen theirs. This role is well suited to someone who wants to deepen their transfer pricing expertise, take greater ownership of client work and contribute to how the team delivers it.

What we offer

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. In addition, our Total Rewards package allows you to decide which benefits are right for you and which ones help you create a solid foundation for your future. Our Total Rewards package includes a discretionary bonus program, a comprehensive medical, prescription drug and dental coverage plan, a defined contribution pension plan, a great vacation policy plus firm paid days that allow you to enjoy longer long weekends throughout the year, statutory holidays and paid personal days (based on province of residence), and a range of exciting programs and benefits designed to support your physical, financial and social well-being. Plus, we offer:

Support and coaching from some of the most engaging colleagues in the industry
Learning opportunities to develop new skills and progress your career
The freedom and flexibility to handle your role in a way that’s right for you

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skills.

Toronto: $68,000to $102,000
