The opportunity

Join our US Tax practice as a Senior Manager focused on tax structuring, where you'll help organizations navigate complex business decisions, transactions and growth opportunities. Working with Canadian and multinational clients, you'll design practical, tax-efficient solutions while leading high-impact engagements and developing the next generation of tax professionals. This role offers a pure advisory focus, allowing you to concentrate on structuring solutions rather than tax compliance or due diligence engagements.

Your key responsibilities

Lead complex US and cross-border tax structuring engagements for multinational and growth-oriented organizations.
Advise clients on the tax implications of acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, financings and expansion into new markets.
Develop practical, commercially focused solutions that optimize tax outcomes while managing risk and compliance obligations.
Collaborate with professionals across International Tax, Transaction Tax, and other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.
Build trusted relationships with senior executives and provide strategic guidance on evolving US tax legislation and emerging tax considerations.
Manage engagement economics, project delivery and team performance to ensure exceptional client service.
Coach and develop team members through technical leadership, mentoring and career development support.
Drive practice growth through business development, proposal development and identification of new client opportunities.

Skills and attributes for success

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex tax and business issues.
Ability to deliver practical, commercially focused advice to clients operating in a dynamic global environment.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, while working across multiple time zones.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility with senior client stakeholders.
Effective leadership capabilities, with a passion for coaching and developing talent.
Commercial acumen and an ability to recognize client needs and emerging business opportunities.
Collaborative approach and ability to work seamlessly across multidisciplinary and cross-border teams.

Qualifications

8 or more years of experience in US corporate tax, international tax, transaction tax or tax structuring.
Strong technical knowledge of US federal income tax and cross-border taxation.
Experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, financings and other strategic transactions.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Law or a related discipline.
US CPA, Enrolled Agent or JD credential
LLM - Taxation or CPA In-Depth Tax certification is an asset.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary range noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skills.

Vancouver: $128,000 - $178,000
