Factory Theatre is seeking a motivated, inspiring, and detail-oriented Executive Director to join the organization's executive leadership team alongside Artistic Director Kevin Matthew Wong. This is a pivotal moment in Factory's history and a rare opportunity to help shape the future of one of Canada's most important cultural institutions.
Founded as Canada's first theatre dedicated exclusively to Canadian plays, Factory Theatre is embarking on an ambitious transformation into Toronto's small-scale international performing arts centre. While Canadian theatre remains the cornerstone of our work, Factory is expanding to include music, dance, theatre for young audiences, and multidisciplinary performance from Toronto, across Canada, and around the world.
Working in partnership with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors, the Executive Director will help guide Factory's next phase of growth through strategic planning, financial leadership, fundraising, audience development, organizational development, and facility renewal. The successful candidate will oversee the theatre's administrative and business operations while helping realize an exciting new long-term vision for the organization.
We are seeking a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and strategic arts leader with experience in financial management, fundraising, team leadership, and organizational growth. Experience with facilities, capital projects, touring, or international performing arts would be considered strong assets. We are particularly interested in candidates who are energized by change, excited to help shape the future of Canadian performing arts, and eager to contribute to a welcoming, artist-centred organization.
Why Factory?
Factory Theatre is entering an exciting new chapter. Building on more than five decades of producing Canadian work, the organization is reimagining its role as a multidisciplinary, internationally connected hub for artists and audiences. This is an opportunity to help lead a historic company through a period of transformation, growth, and renewed community impact.
