Job Title: Program Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Summary
Fairbanks Morse is looking for a Program Manager to join our team.
The role of a Program Manager is to oversee and coordinate multiple interrelated projects to achieve larger strategic organizational goals, focusing on program strategy, implementation, and integration across projects. Key responsibilities include developing program plans, managing budgets and resources, leading project managers, mitigating risks, communicating with stakeholders, and tracking performance to ensure the program aligns with business objectives and delivers its intended benefits.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on key business performance metrics (KPIs) related to the project, including project spend/forecast versus budget, milestone adherence, resource utilization, risk management, gate approvals, and delivery of business case benefits.
- Develop and align program goals with the organization's strategic vision.
- Oversee multiple interconnected projects, ensuring they work together effectively.
- Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues that arise during the program's lifecycle.
- Communicate program objectives, progress, and challenges to executives, stakeholders, and teams.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and mentor project managers and team members, fostering collaboration to achieve program goals.
- Maintain organizational standards for quality, satisfaction, and performance throughout the program.
- Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a relevant field, and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Ability to see the big picture and align projects with overarching business objectives.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, including other project managers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and stakeholder management.
- Expertise in planning, organizing, and coordinating complex initiatives and resources.
- Skill in identifying issues and developing effective solutions for challenges that impact project delivery.
- Ability to manage program budgets and funding effectively to maximize productivity.
- Experience in proposal writing.
- Must be Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada for greater than 5 years.
- Able to obtain NATO security clearance (Secret Level) through Canadian Contract Security Program.
