The Role:

We’re looking for a compassionate, energetic, and collaborative SLPA to join our Early Intervention team. Under the direction and supervision of a registered SLP, you will deliver speech and language intervention to preschool and Kindergarten-aged children through engaging, play-based sessions. You’ll travel between campuses and work closely with teachers and the wider team, so children make consistent, meaningful progress toward their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Speech and Language Intervention

  • Deliver individual and small-group sessions that support receptive and expressive language, speech sounds, social communication, and functional communication
  • Implement AAC strategies and model the use of communication devices and visual supports
  • Use play-based, child-led, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Promote communication within natural classroom routines and peer interactions

Collaboration and Classroom Support

  • Work with SLPs, teachers, BDTs, and other team members
  • Model effective communication strategies for classroom staff
  • Support generalization of speech and language goals throughout the school day
  • Take part in team discussions on children’s progress and strategies
  • Share practical strategies and resources for consistent implementation

Documentation and Progress Monitoring

  • Keep accurate, timely records of intervention sessions
  • Collect data and monitor progress toward Individualized Program Plan (IPP) goals
  • Report observations and progress to the supervising SLP
  • Prepare intervention materials, visual supports, and communication resources
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow organizational policies and professional standards

Qualifications:

Required

  • Diploma or certificate in Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, Communicative Disorders Assistant, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience)
  • Experience working with preschool or early elementary-aged children
  • Understanding of early childhood speech, language, and communication development
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently under the direction of an SLP
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between Calgary locations
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check

Preferred

  • Experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or complex communication needs
  • Experience in early intervention, preschool, Kindergarten, or inclusive settings
  • Familiarity with AAC systems, visual supports, and naturalistic language intervention

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, collaborative, multidisciplinary team
  • Meaningful work in inclusive educational settings
  • Mentorship and collaboration with experienced SLPs and early intervention professionals
  • Ongoing professional learning and development

How To Apply:
