À Propos De Ce Rôle

The Coordinator, International Projects supports the finance and operations activities of the international unit and its projects, including verifying and processing financial transactions, preparing a variety of financial analysis documents, responding to enquiries from funders, project managers and country offices, and supporting on other financial items as required.

In addition, the Coordinator will provide support to the Senior Director, Programs & Networks, G&D - Capacity & Sector Development by performing administrative tasks, including coordinating travel arrangements, organizing meetings, finalizing contracts, and reviewing and submitting invoices and expense reports.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure monthly financial data is received from all Field/Regional Offices as per the set deadlines, and perform quality review before upload in the Canada office financial system (Workday);
Conduct a monthly review of financial reports and corresponding back up documentation from Field/Regional Offices and Partners, to ensure accuracy and compliance with their contribution agreement and Global Affairs Canada guideline;
Process Fund/Advance request from Country office and project partners.
Assist Financial Analysts in completing monthly financial reconciliation for all international projects.
Provide daily technical support and advise to the financial staff in the Field/Regional offices and Partners, including processes, procedures, reviewing transactions, revisions and monitoring compliance;
Reconcile all FCM Program Bank account (Country offices and Global Affairs Canada) bank account and ensure sufficient funds are in the account;
Responsible for clearing, balancing and analyzing all FCM International Programs balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis; including project, staff and partner accounts;
Prepare and calculate overseas allowances for all expatriates on a monthly basis;
Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger;
Organizes logistics for unit activities such as meetings, etc;
Coordinates travel arrangements for the unit and supports projects with additional capacity during travel peaks throughout the year;

Knowledge And Experience

Post-secondary education in finance, accounting or other relevant disciplines.
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a finance/accounting role or equivalent related education/experience.
Strong knowledge of administrative practices and processes (e.g. electronic file management, templates and business documents formats).
Strong knowledge of business support processes and tools, computer business applications (Microsoft Office suite).
Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and a professional attitude in order to coordinate work with various stakeholders and senior level contacts.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines/turnaround times.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and tact when dealing with sensitive information.
Strong customer service skills.
Experience working in international programs or overseas is an asset.
Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Understanding of financial management principles.
Understanding of donor-funded guidelines and contractual obligations.
Strong business acumen, problem-solving and results-based management skills, including planning, budgeting, reporting and evaluation processes.
Ability to lead highly collaborative, dynamic teams in an outcomes-focused, real-time, client service environment.
Workday experience or certifications considered a strong asset
Knowledge of Treasury Board Guidelines as well as QuickBooks experience is an asset.
