Original job description

Sr Business Development Analyst

If we’re going to work together, let us first introduce ourselves – because we are proud of our team at FedEx Canada. You know us as a global transportation company – and we’ve shipped some pretty interesting things over the years like part of the ship’s hull of the Titanic, a windmill, race cars, a helicopter, the shark from Jaws and a lot of panda bears who get their own chartered airplane!

But behind every great delivery is an even greater network of people, technology, innovation, and data-driven decisions. And that's where you come in! Are you someone who loves connecting the dots, solving complex business challenges, and turning data into powerful stories? Do you get excited about using analytics to influence strategy, unlock business opportunities, and make a measurable impact?

If you're a curious, high-energy, analytical thinker who enjoys combining technical expertise with business strategy, we may have the perfect opportunity for you! We're looking for a Sr Business Development Analyst to join our Business Intelligence & Data Analytics team, supporting our Worldwide Sales organization across Canada. This isn't your typical analyst role. You'll be more than someone who builds reports and crunches numbers. You'll be a strategic business partner, problem solver, storyteller, and trusted advisor, helping our sales teams compete, win, and grow in an increasingly complex and competitive marketplace. From supporting multimillion-dollar customer opportunities to uncovering new market potential, developing compelling business cases, and using emerging technologies to reimagine how we work, your insights will help shape real business decisions.

How you'll make a huge impact here – and in your career!

Drive Commercial Growth & Help Win the Next Big Deal

Partner with our Worldwide Sales organization to develop data-driven strategies that accelerate new business acquisition, grow existing customer relationships, and strengthen customer retention.
Analyze customer shipping profiles, supply chains, competitive positioning, and pricing opportunities to develop compelling business cases and differentiated solutions that help FedEx win.
Support strategic growth across key industries including Healthcare, Automotive, Aerospace, Data Centers, B2B, and eCommerce, identifying opportunities to expand our market presence.
Collaborate with Sales, Pricing, Finance, Operations, and Customer Solutions to build commercially competitive, operationally feasible, and financially sound solutions.

Turn Business Intelligence into Competitive Advantage

Transform complex customer, financial, and operational data into actionable insights that influence commercial strategy, improve decision-making, and drive profitable growth.
Develop innovative dashboards, reporting solutions, and analytical tools that enhance customer visibility, uncover revenue opportunities, and provide deeper insights into service performance and network capabilities.
Translate data into compelling business stories and strategic recommendations that influence sales teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior leadership.

Innovate, Automate & Challenge the Status Quo

Leverage our tech stack to develop scalable solutions that simplify processes, improve productivity, and enhance analytical capabilities.
Identify opportunities to strengthen operational intelligence, streamline reporting, and empower our sales organization with faster, smarter, and more proactive insights.
Bring curiosity, creativity, and a continuous improvement mindset to a team that's constantly challenging how we use data to solve business problems and create customer value.

So what do you need to do all of this? How about…

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
5+ Years experience in business intelligence, data analytics, business analysis, commercial strategy, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and develop actionable recommendations.
Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, data manipulation, and analytical modelling.
Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, including dashboard development and data modelling.
Working knowledge of SQL and experience extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
Strong business acumen, with an interest in understanding how organizations generate revenue, manage costs, compete, and grow.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills – someone who can turn complex numbers into simple, compelling business narratives.

And if you bring some of these, even better!

Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or B2B commercial environments.
Knowledge of DAX, Power Query, data modelling, or advanced Power BI development.
Experience with pricing analysis, financial modelling, profitability assessments, or business case development.
Familiarity with AI-enabled analytical tools, process automation, or predictive analytics.
Experience presenting analytical insights and strategic recommendations to business stakeholders.

Some awesome perks to working at FedEx Express:

A competitive salary and incentives.
A progressive benefits programs, including health and dental coverage and pension plan.
A Career Investment Fund with up to $5250 a year for programs or tuition reimbursement
Strong Community Service programs including diverse volunteer, charity, and fundraising initiatives to give back to both local and global communities.
Discounted FedEx services, flights, hotels, entertainment and car rentals.
A fun and diverse team who voted FedEx a best employer and a great place to work.

We don’t expect you to deliver any helicopters or pandas – but if you can deliver on this exciting job opportunity, please attach your updated resume when applying. We thank all applicants and we will contact you directly – by email, not by FedEx – if selected for an interview.
