As Fibracast continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated, hands-on Maintenance and FacilitiesTechnician to join our team and play an important role in keeping our manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson with strong maintenance fundamentals, a practical approach to problem-solving, and an interest in expanding their skills into equipment reliability, facility management, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with the Production Manager and cross-functional teams, you will help minimize downtime, maintain a safe and organized workplace, and ensure our equipment and facilities are ready to support production demands.
What you will do
Equipment Maintenance and Reliability
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery, production equipment, and facility systems to identify maintenance needs and potential issues before they lead to downtime.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.
- Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and integrated equipment systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements to minimize production disruptions.
- Diagnose equipment issues using schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment history using maintenance logs or a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Facility and Infrastructure Management
- Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems and infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, compressed air, and other facility equipment.
- Coordinate external trades, vendors, and contractors for specialized repairs, installations, and maintenance projects.
- Participate in facility upgrades, equipment installations, expansions, renovations, and improvement initiatives.
- Help manage maintenance budgets and identify opportunities to control costs without compromising safety, quality, or reliability.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure maintenance tools, supplies, spare parts, and equipment are available when needed.
- Source and order maintenance materials and replacement parts with a focus on cost-effectiveness, quality, and operational reliability.
Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Follow all applicable health and safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure equipment and facilities remain safe to operate.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace in accordance with company policies and 5S standards.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with company quality standards, environmental requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Work collaboratively with production personnel and other departments to improve equipment performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that reduce downtime, improve productivity, and support smooth manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the Production Manager to meet production schedules and minimize operational disruptions.
What you bring to the Team
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with initiative, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to doing quality work.
Qualifications and experience:
- Approximately two or more years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing equipment maintenance, or a similar role.
- A valid industrial maintenance trade qualification or relevant maintenance trades background.
- A 422A Industrial Electrician or 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence is considered a strong asset.
- A college diploma, trades education, or bachelor's degree in a related discipline is an asset.
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and building systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
- An understanding of maintenance planning, budgeting, spare parts management, and cost control.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and respond effectively to changing production needs.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.
