Position Overview:

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping employees succeed through learning and development?

We are looking for a Training & Competency Coordinator to join our team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Training & Competency Program Lead, you will play a key role in coordinating training programs, maintaining employee learning records, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring employees have access to the training they need to be successful in their roles.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, systems, and people while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

What You'll Do

Coordinate Training Programs

Schedule and coordinate training sessions and employee enrollments.
Manage course registrations, training communications, and scheduling logistics.
Support onboarding and ongoing employee training initiatives.
Prepare training materials and coordinate facilities or catering when required.
Promote learning opportunities across the organization.

Maintain Learning Records

Upload and maintain employee certifications, training records, and regulatory documentation.
Ensure learning records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
Support employee learning assignments and training completion tracking.
Troubleshoot learning system issues and respond to learner inquiries.
Maintain training databases and tracking tools.

Support Compliance & Reporting

Generate reports related to training completion, certifications, compliance, and learning activity.
Assist with audits and compliance reviews by providing accurate training documentation.
Ensure records are maintained in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Support updates to training processes and documentation as business needs evolve.

Vendor & Administrative Support

Coordinate with external training providers for scheduling, enrollment, and course delivery.
Process training-related invoices and maintain supporting documentation.
Assist with purchase order administration and expense tracking.
Maintain vendor records and support procurement processes.

Drive Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve training administration processes.
Support the implementation of new tools and best practices.
Contribute ideas that enhance the employee learning experience and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in training coordination, learning administration, records management, or a related administrative role.
Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Experience maintaining large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer-focused approach with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Workday Learning, BisTrainer, or similar learning management systems.
Experience generating reports and analyzing training-related data.
Experience processing invoices and purchase orders.
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, Adult Education, or a related field.
