What You Will Do:
- Build strong relationships with First Nations clients to support the implementation of Financial Administration Laws (FALs) and preparation for Financial Management System (FMS) certification.
- Meet with clients to understand their needs and identify priorities for Human Resources support and training.
- Provide guidance, tools, and practical support to help clients strengthen their Human Resources practices.
- Develop Human Resources support plans that align with client goals and organizational needs.
- Support performance management, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Create and update job descriptions and assist clients with implementing changes to roles and responsibilities.
- Help establish effective processes for managing, storing, and protecting Human Resources records.
- Develop Human Resources resources and templates, including forms, work plans, and performance review tools.
- Deliver training and learning opportunities on Human Resources practices, job design, performance management, and recordkeeping.
- Maintain accurate documentation, collaborate with colleagues to improve services, and contribute to special projects as assigned.
Who You Are:
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPHR designation is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources; leadership experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Human Resources practices, employment legislation, and workplace policies.
- Experience developing Human Resources programs, processes, and tools that support organizational goals.
- Comfortable using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Microsoft 365, and other workplace technology.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people.
- Skilled at handling sensitive information with professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion.
- Organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems proactively.
- Experience working with First Nations governments, Indigenous organizations, or Indigenous communities is a strong asset.
- Must be fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
- Willing to travel including to remote locations and able to work outside regular business hours
