We are looking for a Claims Coordinator to join our Insurance and Risk Management department. Reporting to the Director, Client Risk Management, the Claims Coordinator is a dynamic individual who will have a lasting impact on our clients by providing excellent customer service and actively enhancing community resiliency in our managed buildings. The Claims Coordinator will assume a lead role communicating and liaising with various parties.

The Claims Coordinator is passionate about providing education and will be a resource for council members, homeowners, tenants, and other stakeholders. The Coordinator will be central in outlining and communicating the steps following a loss and expediate the process for recovery, including defining the duties and responsibilities of each stakeholder involved.

Responsibilities

Investigate and assist with property claims in a timely and respectful manner
Communicate and educate property managers, council members, homeowners, tenants, and others on the steps of a loss and the process for recovery including their duties and responsibilities
Work closely with property managers and clients to analyze current claims processes; identify critical operational objectives, links, and gaps; clarify opportunities for continuous improvement and reduction of risk
Implement long-term standard operating procedures to optimize performance and build community resilience
Support the claims process with visits on-site, and attendance at Council Meetings, and Annual General Meetings with ownership
Ensure that established service and quality standards are met; strive to continually exceed those standards.
Document the claims file after speaking/meeting with all involved parties and obtaining appropriate reports (e.g., third party adjustors).
Maintain and update various databases for the collection, analysis and reporting of loss information to strengthen resilience strategies

Experience

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, or a combination of relatable education and have a minimum of 2 years’ industry related experience.
The candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of working on property claims. Prior experience working with new developments, high rises, high-density and mixed-use strata properties considered a strong asset.
The role includes communicating with internal contacts within the organization, as well as external contacts. Excellent interpersonal skills are key to success in deliver of the role, including outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to travel throughout Metro Vancouver to attend properties after a loss, council meetings and corporate events, often after business hours.
Proof of a valid BC Driver’s License will be required.

Salary

$65,000 - $70,000 annually
