Original job description

Our Business

FISPAN Services Inc. (FISPAN) is an Enterprise SaaS FinTech company that allows banks to deploy embedded financial products and services to create a seamless banking connection for their corporate clients. Our product aims to provide instant scale and reach for banks who want to remove friction and add value by enabling their commercial banking clients to access banking services through their preferred ERP / accounting platform.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in downtown Vancouver, FISPAN is on a mission to create the best product in the FinTech industry and fundamentally change the way that companies bank. Being the market leader in ERP Banking, we work with the world’s Tier 1 banks with assets exceeding $3T, including J.P. Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, TD and Bank of Montreal.

We are looking for dynamic and passionate individuals to join our high performance team and contribute to our rapid growth and exciting journey.

Role Overview

FISPAN connects ERP platforms like NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to the banks businesses already trust. Our Payables product lets finance teams create, approve, send and track vendor payments without leaving their ERP.

As a Business Analyst in FISPAN, you'll help bring new bank partners and payment rails to life. You'll join our flex delivery bench: rather than owning a fixed set of banks, you'll move between bank pods and product lines (including Commercial Card and Cash Management) wherever delivery needs are highest, partnering closely with a senior Product Owner on each project. It's a role built for fast, broad learning across many banks, rails and integration patterns.

You'll work day to day with Product Owners, engineering, QA, project management and our bank partners' implementation teams.

What you'll do (key responsibilities)

  • Gather and document requirements for new payment rails and bank integrations, working from bank file and API specifications (ISO 20022, NACHA, bank-proprietary flat files and XML).
  • Translate commercial commitments and bank requirements into detailed Technical Requirement Documents, data mappings, transformation rules, interface diagrams, and E2E test plans.
  • Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria and mapping documents in Jira and Confluence that engineering and QA can build and test against.
  • Support bank certification and user acceptance testing: prepare test cases, run end-to-end payments in sandbox environments, and track issues to resolution.
  • Coordinate day to day with bank implementation contacts on connectivity (SFTP, API), test files and open questions, under the direction of the project's Product Owner.
  • Keep bank and rail documentation current so support, Partner Success and future teammates can rely on it.
  • Contribute to the handoff when a bank moves into steady state.

What you bring

  • 2–4 years of experience as a business analyst, systems analyst or implementation analyst, ideally in fintech, banking or B2B SaaS.
  • Comfort reading technical specifications - file layouts, XML/JSON payloads, API documentation - and turning them into clear requirements.
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and supporting QA or UAT.
  • Basic data-querying skills to investigate issues and validate test results.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, including external partners.
  • The ability to manage your own work within a defined scope, know when to escalate, and ramp quickly when you move to a new bank or product area.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ISO 20022 (pain.001, pain.002, camt) or NACHA file formats.
  • Familiarity with an ERP's accounts payable module, such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct or Business Central.
  • Working knowledge of payments: ACH, wires and checks, RTP, international wires, virtual cards and/or Positive Pay.
  • Experience with SFTP, PGP encryption or REST APIs (Postman or similar).
  • Experience working directly with a bank's treasury management or implementation team.

Why Work With Us?

  • Experienced Team: Our CEO is Lisa Shields, a renowned tech entrepreneur whose previous venture, Hyperwallet, was purchased by Paypal and ranks as one of the largest Canadian technology company acquisitions. Lisa is backed by a seasoned leadership team with vast experience scaling technology companies from start-up through growth phases to acquisition. In joining our team you will benefit from that experience and associated mentorship opportunities, and further build your network and knowledge base.
  • High Growth Environment: FISPAN is an emerging high growth company, and that implies autonomy and leadership over projects. Our employees hold a higher level of responsibility and are presented with various hands-on opportunities from the get-go. We want our team to reach their full potential and career aspirations, and FISPAN helps foster that.
  • Rich Culture: The Company’s culture is its greatest asset, and our team members form bonds that last a lifetime. We plan company-wide events, both virtual and in-person, and other activities to foster togetherness and help drive engagement. We also understand that personal growth happens on multiple levels, and so encourage a work-life balance with ample time to spend with family, explore new ideas and develop hobbies.
  • Perks: Our prime downtown Vancouver office is close to a Skytrain, prestige shopping, and coastal views. FISPAN employees have access to our building fitness center and amenities, fully stocked cupboards, weekly team lunches, and daily coffee runs. We also set our employees up for success by providing the most modern MacBook and Apple equipment.
