Original job description
Fitra · Calgary (northeast) · part-time, on-site
Fitra is a women-only strength studio opening in northeast Calgary in November 2026. The room is private. Classes are small, with no more than nine women per coach, so the work is real coaching rather than crowd management. We are hiring our first coach. Because the studio is women-only, this role is open to women.
What you’ll do
- Plan and lead coached classes: beginner fundamentals, general strength, cardio and conditioning, mobility and flexibility
- Teach technique, correct form and keep the floor safe
- Run fitness assessments and give members recommendations
- Track member progress and give clear, steady feedback
- Help shape the schedule and class offerings as the studio grows
What you bring
- Group fitness or personal training certification from a recognized body (e.g. AFLCA, canfitpro, CSEP, NSCA, ACE) preferred
- Experience coaching both groups and individuals, including complete beginners
- Working knowledge of exercise science, safe progression and program design
- Clear communication and a calm, encouraging coaching style
- Comfort working within a modest dress code
- CPR/First Aid, or willingness to get it before your start date
