In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing technical drawings, developing manufacturing procedures, preparing cost and material estimates, and ensuring all planning activities meet engineering, customer, quality, and configuration control requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing knowledge, hands-on experience or direct exposure to composite manufacturing processes, and the ability to work confidently with technical documents and shop floor operations. Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical understanding, communication, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, Document Control, and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and interpret aerospace drawings, prints, specifications, and technical documents.
Prepare detailed manufacturing planning for parts, assemblies, composites, and fabrication processes.
Develop and support prototyping and manufacturing plans for new composite products with manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams.
Develop integrated manufacturing procedures and work instructions to support production requirements.
Estimate costs for assembly, composites, fabrication, manufacturing, inspection, and related processes.
Obtain cost and material estimates from subcontractors and suppliers as required.
Plan the flow of parts through manufacturing while ensuring quality, engineering, and customer requirements are met.
Support MRP system activities, including tool orders, item masters, planning, and document control functions.
Ensure planning aligns with required material finishes, processing requirements, inspection needs, and customer specifications.
Use CAD data and technical documentation to support accurate planning and process development.
Conduct work measurement, time studies, work simplification, and related process improvement activities.
Collect and compile operational data to assist in developing estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports.
Prepare cost estimates, material estimates, project schedules, reports, and planning documentation.

Qualifications/Experience:

3 to 5 years of related on-the-job experience in methods planning, manufacturing planning, aerospace manufacturing, or a similar technical environment is required.
Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting aerospace prints, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly, composites, fabrication, and shop floor workflow.
Experience preparing manufacturing plans, work instructions, cost estimates, material estimates, schedules, and technical reports.
Working knowledge of MRP systems, item masters, planning processes, tool orders, and document control functions.
Ability to use CAD data to support manufacturing planning and process development.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering certificate, diploma, or degree is considered an asset.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge of quality standards, customer requirements, WHMIS, and Health & Safety practices is an asset.

Ideal Candidate:

Aerospace Manufacturing Knowledge: You understand aerospace drawings, specifications, materials, quality requirements, and manufacturing processes.
Technical Planner: You can turn complex drawings and technical requirements into clear, accurate manufacturing plans and work instructions.
Detail-Oriented: You take pride in accuracy and ensure planning, estimates, and documentation meet customer and quality requirements.
Independent & Accountable: You can work with minimal supervision and take ownership of planning responsibilities from start to finish.
Analytical Thinker: You can review cost, material, workflow, and operational data to support estimates, schedules, and process improvements.
Shop Floor Focused: You understand how planning decisions impact production and can work effectively with manufacturing teams.
Collaborative Communicator: You can communicate technical information clearly with Engineering, Production, Quality, Document Control, and other internal teams.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: You look for ways to improve workflow, simplify processes, reduce costs, and support efficient manufacturing.
