Summary
The Process Technician hired for this position supports Pilot Line activities. They should be willing to assist in all tasks given and provide insight on process improvements and development. The individual should have a strong technical and communication skills to enhance the team. Having knowledge in programming, vision and robotics is seen as an asset. With a combination of industry knowledge and individual skill, the technician should bring initiative, ingenuity and integrity to enhance Flex-Ion as a company.
Job Duties
- Support Pilot Line operations including mixing, coating, calendaring, punching, laser cutting/slitting and cell assembly.
- This includes process preparation, operations, data collection, product inspections and change overs.
- Provide daily production support to resolve process upsets and identify improvements that reduce cost, increase capacity, and expand department capability
- Assist in machine and vision programming (if applicable)
- Determine inefficiencies in current system and provide suggestions for improvements
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions and safety protocol
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company’s value
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner
Requirements
- Minimum college or University education in engineering or equivalent. Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
- Possess basic mathematical skills
- Possess basic office skills such as Excel, Microsoft Word.
- Safety and environmental training and experience
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Flexible hours seen as an asset
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
- Troubleshooting ability is required.
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
- Experience in robotics, vision or programming seen as an asset
- Demonstrated good internal customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
Working Conditions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
- This position may require hot work, standing up to 100%, overhead work, kneeling, bending, crawling, pushing, pulling, climbing, and working at heights.
