Coaches and staff work together to help each athlete reach personal goals, from mastering new skills to competing at elite levels. Flicka Gymnastics Club operates out of the Harry Jerome Recreation Centre in North Vancouver, BC.
Role Description
Love working with kids and want to build a career in sport? Flicka Gymnastics Club is looking for enthusiastic coaches to join our team in our new facility!
Entry-level welcome. No gymnastics coaching experience but have certification? No problem.
Coach another sport? If you coach soccer, swimming, dance, martial arts, or any other sport and want to try gymnastics, we’d love to hear from you. We’ll guide you through the Gymnastics BC certification process (terms and conditions apply).
Who we’re looking for
- Experienced coaches with 1+ years of experience or entry-level coaches who just became certified.
- 18 years or older
- Currently in Canada and legally authorised to work at least 20 hours per week (citizen, PR, or valid work permit)
- Positive, reliable, and great with children
- Willing to complete training and certification
Certification and screening (we’ll support you through these if you are a coach from another sport)
Before coaching:
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (through the BC Criminal Records Review Program)
- Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
- Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) Safe Sport Training
- Annual review of the Gymnastics BC Code of Conduct
NCCP Gymnastics Foundations training:
- NCCP Making Ethical Decisions
- NCCP Emergency Action Plan
- Gymnastics Foundations Theory Modules 1–5
- Gymnastics Foundations evaluation, which leads to full certification
Also an asset: a valid First Aid/CPR certificate
💡 Already NCCP-trained in another sport? Some multi-sport modules, like Making Ethical Decisions and Emergency Action Plan, may already be on your coach.ca record.

Responsibilities
Coach gymnastics athletes of different ages and abilities, supporting their personal goals and development in a safe, inclusive environment. Complete required training and certification and uphold the club’s standards for safety, respect, and conduct.
Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18, legally authorized to work in Canada for at least 20 hours per week, and positive, reliable, and comfortable working with children. The role welcomes entry-level candidates and coaches from other sports, who must complete the required screening, training, and Gymnastics BC certification process.
