Original job description
Operations & Production Manager, AV & Events
Flo Production Consulting Inc. · Toronto, Ontario · Hybrid · Full-time · $90,000 to $120,000 base plus commission
Flo Production Consulting (FPC) is an audio-visual production company working on corporate events, galas, tours and live productions across Ontario and beyond. We’re a couple of years old and growing steadily. This is our first full-time hire, so you’ll have real say in how the company runs.
The role
We’re looking for one person to run our operations and manage our shows. You’ll have a hand in every part of the business, from the first quote to the last piece of gear back on the shelf. We’re early, growing, and already working with major global brands, so this is a real chance to build something from the ground floor.
You’ll run the back end and keep every show organized from quote to load-out. That means quoting and proposals, scheduling crew, managing gear and subrentals, vendor relationships, trucking and logistics, and making sure shows are prepped properly before they leave the shop. You’ll work directly with the owner on how we grow.
You won’t be chained to a desk either. When a show needs an extra pair of hands, you’ll step in and run audio, video, or lighting basics onsite, set up gear, or lead a load-in. We need someone who can do both and is comfortable switching between the two in the same week.
Clients and commission
You’ll work with our existing clients and help bring in new ones. Any business you bring in, and any existing accounts you grow, earns you commission on top of your base salary. Our rates are competitive and we’ll go over them openly in the interview, so you know exactly how it works before you say yes.
Slow seasons
Events aren’t constant, and we don’t treat the slower months as dead time. You’ll have room in those stretches to reach out to new clients and build your own pipeline, or to train on new gear, software and skills. Anything that makes the business stronger and helps you grow in the role is fair game, and we’ll support it.
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years of AV experience, ideally with a rental house, production company, or venue
- Solid knowledge of AV equipment and how it all fits together (audio, video, LED, projection, staging, networking)
- Real logistics experience, including crew scheduling, gear prep, shipping, and subrentals
- Comfortable operating onsite when needed, and calm when things go sideways during a show
- Good with clients and vendors, and able to write a clear email or proposal
- Organized, reliable, and happy to own things without being chased
- Valid driver’s licence and able to lift and work long show days
Bonus points
Sales experience, experience with barcoding or inventory tracking systems, a background in corporate events, or time spent managing freelance crew.
What you get
- $90k to $120k base depending on experience, plus commission
- 4 weeks vacation
- Benefits
- Remote flexibility on office days and during slower seasons
- A seat at the table in a growing company, with room to grow into a bigger leadership role
Start date is early in the new year.
How to apply
Apply here or send your resume and a short note about your AV and logistics background to andrew@fpcevents.com. Tell us about a show you’re proud of. All conversations are kept confidential.
