Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager or General Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor leads safe, efficient, and high-quality warehouse operations while maintaining inventory accuracy. This role manages team members and implements proactive action plans for receiving, warehousing, and shipping products in alignment with company service and cost objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Warehouse Coordination & Operations Management
Inventory Management: identify and resolve potential inventory discrepancies.
Identify opportunities to realign inventory and improve space utilization and operational flow.
Prepare and maintain accurate client activity records and reports on time.
Operations supervision: Supervise employees, including performance, conduct, quality, and compensation matters.
Communicate effectively with team members, provide feedback, resolve issues, lead shift start-up meetings, and support culture-building activities.
Plan labour requirements and manage shift schedules, including time-off and vacation requests.
Maintain professional, courteous relationships with internal and external customers and ensure team members do the same.
Oversee shipping and receiving operations.
Lead health and safety initiatives, security practices, and general facility housekeeping.

Education and Experience

A college diploma in business administration, logistics, or a related field, combined with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of technical training, warehouse operations experience, and experience supervising employees in a progressive employee-relations environment.
Four to five years of experience in a related business or industry role.
Experience in, and a solid understanding of, warehousing and distribution.
Front-line supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
High proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Qualifications And Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with material-handling equipment.
Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation.
Ability to coordinate employee training and support the development of job-related skills.
Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
