Senior Workday HCM Business Analyst (Functional)

An exciting contract opportunity supporting a long-term Workday HCM transformation across seven healthcare organisations in Canada, replacing legacy HR and Payroll systems and standardising HR processes.

Start date: 26 October 2026.

Initial contract until 31 March 2027, with two potential six-month extensions.

The role:

• Gather, document and validate business and functional requirements for Workday HCM.
• Lead stakeholder workshops, process mapping and future-state process design.
• Work with Functional Leads, Product Owners and implementation partners to review solution designs and validate Workday configurations against business requirements.
• Produce process flows, user stories, decision logs and impact assessments.
• Support Customer Confirmation Sessions, test planning, test scenarios, UAT and defect management.
• Support reporting requirements, data validation, business readiness, cutover, go-live and transition to operations.
• Identify and manage business risks, issues and dependencies throughout delivery.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of recent Senior Business Analyst experience supporting large-scale transformation or enterprise system implementations.
• Previous experience supporting Workday HCM implementations is essential.
• Strong understanding of Workday business processes, security concepts, organisational structures, reporting requirements and configuration impacts.
• Proven experience gathering requirements, facilitating workshops and designing future-state HR processes and operating models.
• Experience supporting business testing, defect resolution, change readiness, deployment and go-live.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Relevant degree or equivalent education and experience.

Healthcare, public sector or multi-organisation implementation experience would be advantageous, particularly exposure to collective agreements and complex workforce processes. Relevant functional experience may include Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Recruitment, Talent, Learning or Workforce Management.
