Original job description

Focus Systems is seeking a qualified junior- to intermediate-level project manager to provide project coordination and delivery support for a large-scale transformational initiative.

If you have hands-on experience supporting IT projects in a PMO environment, coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors, maintaining disciplined project controls, and contributing to agile or hybrid delivery, this is an opportunity to support a complex initiative with broad stakeholder and governance needs.

Key Details

• Location: Regina, SK

Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site for the duration of the engagement, with consideration of occasional offsite work

Contract: Initial 18-month term

Renewal Options: Two additional one-year renewals

Initiative: Large-scale transformation

Role Overview

The junior-to-intermediate project manager will provide tactical delivery, PMO and governance support, reporting, accountability, and day-to-day coordination across project teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

The successful candidate will functionally report to the Director, Enterprise Project Management Office, adhere to project management standards and governance processes, and remain accountable to the designated Program Director for the delivery of assigned programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform tactical project management activities and support project planning and reporting.

Coordinate tasks, activities, work packages, dependencies, and interdependencies across teams, stakeholders, and vendors.

Track action items, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and deliverables; follow up and escalate where appropriate.

Maintain project artifacts, schedules, work plans, action and decision logs, risk registers, issue logs, and dependency trackers.

Support governance meetings, dashboards, project controls, presentations, briefing materials, and reporting processes.

Facilitate meetings, workshops, and working sessions; document decisions, outcomes, actions, and follow-up activities.

Liaise with project teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to support communication and alignment.

Assist with project plans, resource plans, budgets, forecasts, and consolidated reporting to leadership and governance bodies.

Monitor progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, milestones, deadlines, dependencies, and critical-path activities.

Support corrective action planning, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement in delivery practices.

Ensure compliance with project management standards, methodologies, reporting requirements, governance requirements, and record-management practices.

Required Qualifications

• Three to seven years of proven IT project management experience in a project management-related role.

• Project management education and/or certification, such as PMP.

• Three to seven years of proven vendor management experience.

• Proven experience working in a PMO environment and with cross-functional project teams.

Experience working on an agile or hybrid project.

Proficiency with project management software.

Excellent written skills and a disciplined approach to managing project records.

Demonstrated interpersonal, management, and communication skills at all organizational levels.

Strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking, project planning, and resource planning capabilities.

Proven ability to analyze complex problems and identify practical, innovative solutions.

• Availability and ability to work primarily on-site in Regina, SK.
