This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $16.60 - $16.70 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.
This is a posting for an existing permanent part-time position.

Join Our Food Basics Team as an Overnight Grocery Clerk!
Be part of a dedicated overnight team that keeps our store stocked, organized, and ready for customers each morning. As an Overnight Grocery Clerk, you will play a key role in receiving, replenishing, and merchandising products throughout the Grocery Department, including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Bakery.
Our overnight team works behind the scenes to ensure shelves, coolers, and displays are fully stocked and presentation-ready before the store opens. If you are reliable, detail-oriented, and enjoy physical, fast-paced work, we want you on our team!
What You'll Do
- Unload deliveries and organize products in the backroom, coolers, and freezers.
- Restock shelves, coolers, freezers, and displays in the Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Bakery departments, ensuring products are placed in the correct locations.
- Face and level products to maintain a clean, organized, and shop-ready appearance throughout the store.
- Rotate stock using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method to ensure product freshness.
- Set up and maintain promotional displays and end caps throughout the Grocery Department.
- Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and product labelling.
- Conduct inventory checks and report discrepancies, damaged products, or out-of-stock items to management.
- Keep aisles, shelves, coolers, freezers, and work areas clean, safe, and free of hazards.
- Sweep and mop floors as needed and address spills promptly to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform duties across all areas of the Grocery Department, including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Bakery.
- Operate equipment and tools safely and according to company procedures.
- Assist with additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
- Adhere to all company policies, as well as health, safety, sanitation, and food handling guidelines.
Qualifications
- Customer service driven.
- Able to stock merchandise and create displays.
- Good product knowledge and attention to detail.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Retail experience is considered an asset.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and work under minimal supervision.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
