Foremost is seeking a full-time Junior Safety Advisor located at our Stettler facility who reports into the HSE & HR Senior Manager. The Junior Safety Advisor supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s health and safety programs. Working closely with the Safety Manager, supervisors, and employees, this position assists with workplace inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations, safety documentation, employee training, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and administration of company health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular workplace, shop, warehouse, yard, and equipment safety inspections.
- Assist supervisors and employees with hazard assessments, Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and safe work procedures.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Assist with incident, injury, near-miss, and property-damage investigations.
- Track corrective actions resulting from inspections, audits, hazard reports, and incident investigations to ensure completion.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, orientations, and other safety-related activities.
- Assist with new employee and contractor safety orientations.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, training records, incident documentation, and safety statistics.
- Support the administration of WHMIS, PPE, emergency response, first aid, and other workplace safety programs.
- Assist with the development and revision of safe work practices, safe job procedures, forms, checklists, and safety communications.
- Monitor compliance with company safety requirements and applicable occupational health and safety legislation.
- Provide employees and supervisors with guidance on day-to-day safety questions and concerns.
- Promote employee participation in hazard identification and incident prevention.
- Assist with internal and external safety audits and preparation of supporting documentation.
- Participate in emergency drills and support emergency preparedness activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry practices.
- Perform other HSE-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Certificate, diploma, or post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of health and safety experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, transportation, equipment, or oil and gas environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation is an asset.
- Familiarity with hazard assessments, incident investigations, workplace inspections, and safe work procedures.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic recordkeeping systems.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license may be required.
