We are working with a leading organization on a Senior Project Manager to join their corporate real estate project delivery team in Calgary.
This is a hands on project delivery role supporting a major financial institution and involves the delivery of corporate workplace and retail banking fit up projects.
We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager who has successfully delivered complex projects from initial planning and design through construction and close out. Experience working with banks or other large corporate environments would be highly advantageous.
This is not a program or P&L leadership position. The focus is on strong project execution, client management and delivering projects successfully from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end to end delivery of corporate real estate, workplace and retail fit up projects
- Manage projects typically ranging from $2M to $4M+, with larger project experience considered an asset
- Act as the primary project lead and day to day contact for client stakeholders
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, procurement, construction and close out
- Lead architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts and reporting
- Manage tendering, contractor selection, change orders, project risks and commercial negotiations
- Coordinate design development and ensure projects meet client requirements
- Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, budget and schedule
- Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide regular project reporting to senior stakeholders
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of client service
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years of progressive project management experience
- Proven track record delivering $2M to $4M+ projects or larger
- Strong experience in corporate fit ups, workplace, commercial interiors and/or retail projects
- Experience delivering projects for banks or other large corporate clients is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from planning and design through construction and close out
- Experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and change management
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working directly with senior corporate stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Canadian construction practices and project delivery methodologies
- Post secondary education in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
- PMP designation is an asset
- P.Eng., LEED or other relevant professional designations are considered an asset
