Job Overview:
An enthusiastic person with relevant hands-on experience in HealthTech and Life Sciences domain, who likes to work in a dynamic, advanced, and fast-paced environment. Support key decisions taken with appropriate research and data. Produce needed minimum documentation for installations, operating procedures, user guides etc. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in approach or technology selection. Highlight project and schedule risks in advance and suggest mitigation plan.
Job Duties:
- Evaluating and analyzing clients’ technical requirements and business needs.
- Translating designs to build high performance, reusable and reliable code that integrates with pre-existing systems and specifications.
- Writing, modifying, integrating, and testing software code for specialized products and solutions.
- Utilizing Forgeahead’s proprietary processes and procedures to develop, evaluate, test, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted applications, and ensuring they meet client requirements.
- Maintaining and updating cloud application builds to ensure enhanced quality and the latest functionality.
- Ensuring all software products and solutions are in compliance with quality and security standards, and best practices.
- Maintaining up-to-date, in-depth proprietary knowledge of Forgeahead’s specialized processes, systems, products and solutions.
- Analyze system requirements for the modern software application (including AI-enabled platforms) to host, and scale in the cloud.
- Execute software runtime environment security patching cycles, artifacts management, and application availability across production cloud environments.
- Create software change management documentation, write tooling and related documentation.
Professional Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of cloud developer experience
- At least 5 years of experience in HealthTech & Life Sciences
- Programming languages hands-on experience: Java, Ruby, Python
- AWS Expert level - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- Docker Expert level - hands-on experience in production environment
- Configuration Management Service experience with Puppet, Ansible, Chef
- Kubernetes Expert level - Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Application Developer
- Modern CI/CD pipelines shipping to production environment in cloud and for on-prem air-gapped environments (functional and security test integration)
- Software’s security and regulatory compliance management
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code to support cloud-native application development and production deployment of the software using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Pulumi
- Relational databases in dev, test, and prod environment: MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS Aurora
- Modern IDEs, AI-enabled development (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and Git lifecycle experience
- Open to daily on-call shift participation and rotation
- Hands-on experience with observability frameworks for software applications
- Experience in research and adoption of open-source tools
- Strong Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux/UNIX operating systems and shell scripting
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, lead a team and work as part of a team
- Should have a positive attitude
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or software engineering
Compensation:
We offer a generous compensation package, which includes:
- Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 per annum based on 40 hours of work per week
- Vacation: 10 days of paid vacation per annum
- Benefits: extended medical, dental, vision, parental leave, RRSP contributions, and cell phone.
- Other: eligible for incremental salary increases in accordance with standard company policies
