Original job description

A Little Bit About Us

Founded in Vancouver in 2016, FORM is the sports technology company behind the award-winning FORM Smart Swim Goggles. Since launching in 2019, our goggles have earned global recognition, including Red Dot, iF Design, and Global Triathlon awards, and are trusted by professional athletes, age-group triathletes, and swimmers looking to get better.

We’re a talented, tight-knit team that’s fun to work with and serious about building great products. Together, we bring decades of consumer product experience spanning sports eyewear, interface design, and activity-tracking algorithms.

To learn more, visit formswim.com

The Opportunity Reporting to the CEO, you’ll own FORM’s finance function end to end. You’ll start by learning how our accounting function runs today, then partner with the team to strengthen controls and streamline processes as we grow. From there, you’ll lean into financial modelling and become a strategic partner to the executive team.

You’ll work directly alongside the CEO, with access to our fractional CFO for mentorship. You’ll have real ownership over how FORM plans, reports, and grows, and the support to step up as the role expands. This role requires a hands-on leader who likes being close to the numbers.

What You’ll Own

Lead a two-person accounting team, managing our Senior Accountant and supporting the development of the Accountant on their team
Work with the team to put scalable internal controls in place for accurate, reliable financial statements
Own cash and cashflow planning across short- and long-term horizons
Partner with the executive team to build annual budgets, forecasts, and department-specific KPI reporting
Build financial models and scenario plans to support strategic decisions and fundraising
Support the CEO on investor materials and Board and shareholder reporting
Manage tax, audit, legal, and banking partners, and keep FORM compliant across jurisdictions

What Great Looks Like

Reliable reporting generated in hours, not days
A controls environment the executive team trusts
Budgets and KPI reports that department leads use to run their teams
AI embedded in our finance workflows, so the team spends less time on manual tasks and more on insights

The Landscape

Inventory across multi-warehouse global operations
Multiple entities (Canada and US) and multiple currencies
Startup financing, including SAFEs, convertible notes, and equity and debt rounds

How We Work

Daring - Greatness lies just outside our comfort zone. You bring fresh ideas and aren’t afraid to try something new.
Focused - We’re not afraid of throwing out great ideas to execute the right one. You know which numbers matter most and keep the team pointed at them.
Human - Work as a team, work for one another, listen to our members. You make finance approachable and explain the numbers so every FORMie can act on them.
Learn Fast, Act Fast - Improve through trial, testing and action. You move with urgency, learn from each cycle, and keep improving how finance works.

This role has an annual salary range of $135,000 to $170,000. Most new hires do not start at the top of the range. Compensation is determined based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and overall alignment with the role.
