Original job description

WORK WITH US

Service-Meets-Retail,

Experiential Skincare Company

Company description

Founded in 2019 by Jessica Walsh and Anita Chan, Formula Fig is a pioneer of experience-led, science-forward skincare destinations that transform the everyday. Our immersive, award-winning locations (Fig Bars) offer an innovative range of 30-minute, technology-driven facial treatments and medical aesthetics injections alongside a curated assortment of skincare products.

We are powered by our deep beliefs in service, community, and design - helping all our guests #GiveAFig about their skin.

As we prepare to open our Midtown Fig Bar, we’re excited to welcome team members who are passionate about service, community, and design, and who want to play a hands-on role in bringing the Fig experience to a new neighborhood. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company and contribute meaningfully to a new store opening from day one.

Role Description

The Associate Fig Bar Manager will play a key role in supporting the launch and day-to-day operations of our Midtown Fig Bar. This position supports Fig Bar operations, manages staff, assists with guest experience, and ensures the smooth delivery of treatments and services from opening through steady-state operations.

This role requires strong leadership, organization, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and client care - especially during a new store opening.

The Associate Fig Bar Manager will report to the Area Manager and work cross-functionally with other business units. This role will also work 20 hours per week supporting Guest Experience, in addition to leadership and operational responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who has:

4+ years experience in retail management
Highly detail-oriented, excellent organization, communication and people management skills
A passion for skin health
Confidence and a natural ability to build connections that lead to sales
A believer in Fig and our vision

Role responsibilities

Deliver exceptional guest experiences: Greet guests warmly, manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently, and make every interaction feel personal and inclusive. Anticipate guest needs, resolve questions, manage guest escalations, and create a welcoming environment.
Drive sales: Proactively educate guests on memberships, treatments, promotions, and skincare products. Convert interest into product and membership sales to meet and exceed established sales targets. Monitor team performance and provide coaching to improve sales outcomes.
Support skin goals: Collaborate with Skin Educators to encourage follow-up treatments and recommend at-home skincare solutions aligned with guest needs and goals.
Maintain the Fig Bar environment: Assist with daily Fig Bar tasks and projects, including restocking products, handling returns, sanitizing tools, cleaning, and ensuring the Fig Bar remains organized and inviting. Monitor team performance in maintaining Fig Bar standards and provide guidance to ensure consistency.
Team: Assist in training, mentoring, and managing staff to ensure the highest standards of performance. Support the FBM in managing team schedules, daily workflow, and ensuring adequate staffing. Promote a positive team culture focused on high levels of professionalism, collaboration, and Guest satisfaction.
Coach and train: Mentor a high-performing team by coaching, fostering collaboration and training new and existing team members.
Managerial duties: Serve as the primary point of contact and oversee day-to-day operations on an alternating schedule with the Fig Bar Manager, ensuring smooth execution of business activities, resolving guest and team concerns, and escalating inquiries to Support Office teams as needed.

Engage the community: Participate in community-building efforts by supporting events hosted at your Fig Bar location, which may include event preparation, guest engagement, and showcasing products and services.
Time and attendance: Be present and punctual for scheduled shifts, as attendance is critical for our operations and ensuring a high level of service for our guests. Support team attendance by monitoring schedules and helping maintain staffing levels to meet operational needs.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory within the Fig Bar by being accountable to inventory counts, recounts and fulfillments. Report on shrink on a weekly basis.
Additional duties and responsibilities may be added or modified throughout your employment.

This role requires a strong focus on achieving sales targets for both products and memberships, as these are critical drivers of Fig Bar success.

What we offer:

Competitive salary + commission on product and membership sales incentives
Continuing education - learn about industry-leading skincare brands and innovations in beauty
Formula Fig perks, treatment benefits, and product discounts
Eligibility for benefits coverage, dependent on FTE

Total rewards

Competitive annual salary
Commission on product sales
Benefits

Total reward decisions are performance based and reviewed throughout the calendar year.

At Formula Fig, we believe that our people are at the forefront of our brand - every team member will make a meaningful contribution to our growing community.

Formula Fig provides equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment. We believe in providing an inclusive workplace where all individuals have the chance to succeed.
