Activities / Main Tasks / Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize machining programs using Mastercam, G. code, Mazatrol and FANUC software
  • Direct machining plans and ranges on digital machines in order to make manufacturing as profitable as possible
  • Determine the lengths of materials to be cut according to the quantities to be produced as well as validate the data in the ERP system before putting it into production
  • Ensure that you have a clear, complete and up-to-date machining range to facilitate interpretation
  • Make changes to programs according to machinists' requests
  • Participate in the search for new work tools
  • Visualize the final design result in the factory for professional development and future improvement
  • Participate in the design of machining jigs
  • Supporting machinists during the implementation of new parts
  • Draw new jigs (tooling for holding parts during machining) with the MasterCam tool
  • Management of raw material losses (plastic used on the router)

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Spatial visualization
  • Have worked on CNC machines before
  • Rigour
  • Have a good knowledge of speeds and feeds to be used in different materials and tools
  • Proficiency in programming language (Mastercam an asset)
  • Have a basic knowledge of G-codes and/or manufacturing software directly on machines (Mazatrol, FANUC, etc.)

Responsibilities

Design, optimize, and maintain CNC machining programs and production plans using Mastercam, G-code, Mazatrol, and FANUC, while validating production data and minimizing material losses. Support machinists with new parts and tooling, design machining jigs, and improve manufacturing processes through factory observation and collaboration.

Requirements

Requires a machining techniques diploma with a numerical control specialization, or a mechanical engineering diploma, and 2 to 3 years of CNC programming experience. Candidates should have prior CNC machine experience, knowledge of speeds and feeds, basic G-code or machine programming software skills, and familiarity with industrial design; AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault, and basic English are desired.
