Original job description

As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Procurement & Facilities, this senior leadership role drives the strategic procurement and contracting framework for major capital projects. Leading a high-performing team, the position ensures governance, compliance, and value optimization while delivering procurement solutions that enable project success, strengthen supplier partnerships, and support the organization's long-term objectives.

In this role, you will:

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of procurement strategies and governance frameworks that support major project delivery.
Drive procurement objectives, delivery models, contract strategies, and governance practices to ensure consistency, value creation, and effective risk mitigation.
Partner with Project, Legal, Finance, and Procurement teams to align procurement solutions with project requirements and enable successful project outcomes.
Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, optimizing resources, developing talent, and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced project environment.
Manage procurement-related budgets, ensure contract and process compliance, uphold industry best practices, and champion a strong culture of safety.

What it takes:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution. A minimum of seven (7) years related experience in a leadership capacity, and SCMP designation or equivalent. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Deep knowledge of procurement, supply chain management, logistics, contract processes, and corporate policies, with strong proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, work independently, apply sound judgment, and drive informed business decisions through strong analytical skills.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and effectively resolve conflicts across diverse stakeholder groups.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, attention to detail, and teamwork.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
