Position Overview

The Senior HR Reporting Analyst plays a key role in helping FortisBC better understand and leverage workforce data. As the subject matter expert for HR reporting, workforce analytics, and reporting governance, you will work closely with HR, Finance, Information Systems (IS), HRIS, and business leaders to deliver reporting and insights that support workforce planning, talent initiatives, and operational decision-making.

This role combines analytics, problem solving, and collaboration to enhance reporting capabilities, improve data quality and governance, and drive continuous improvement across HR reporting processes and tools.

In this role, you will:

Lead HR reporting and workforce analytics, including executive, Board and regulatory reporting, delivering data-driven insights that support workforce planning, talent initiatives, and organizational decision-making.
Partner with HR, Finance, IS, HRIS, and business leaders to understand reporting needs, analyze workforce trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
Develop, enhance, and maintain HR reporting solutions and establish reporting standards, data definitions, and quality controls to ensure consistent and reliable workforce reporting.
Identify and resolve data quality issues, reporting gaps and inconsistencies, and recommend improvements to HR reporting processes and data.
Drive continuous improvement by streamlining reporting processes, leveraging reporting and visualization tools, and promoting effective use of workforce data.
Lead reporting and analytics projects, support HR technology initiatives, including system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and implementation of new reporting capabilities.
Coordinate HR-related organizational surveys and reporting requirements.

What it takes:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in HR reporting, workforce analytics, HRIS and business intelligence
Experience developing dashboards, workforce metrics and analytics using business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI
Experience working with HRIS platforms such as SAP and SuccessFactors, and large, complex datasets
Strong SQL skills and experience working with HRIS databases (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UKG)
Expert knowledge in Excel, including complex formulas, Power Query, and data modelling
Demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders and translate reporting requirements into actionable workforce insights, and clearly communicate the story behind the data
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Effective communication and presentation abilities

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
