AI Engineer

Our client is looking for an AI Engineer to help build the next generation of agentic AI systems! If you’re passionate about LLMs, intelligent retrieval, and building scalable AI solutions that solve real-world customer challenges, this could be an exciting opportunity for you.

🔍 What You’ll Do

• Build and deploy backend systems that power agentic workflows and multi-step AI agents.
• Design and optimize retrieval, ranking, and RAG pipelines using hybrid search, vector databases, and reranking techniques.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure AI quality, relevance, latency, and end-to-end task success.
• Improve LLM-powered workflows for accuracy, reliability, and performance in production.
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver customer-focused AI solutions.
• Explore and integrate emerging advances in LLMs, retrieval architectures, and agentic reasoning.

💡 What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with search, retrieval, or ranking systems.
• Experience building or evaluating LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflows.
• Strong Python and backend engineering skills, with experience in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Pinecone, FAISS, PostgreSQL/PGVector, or similar technologies.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
• A customer-first mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to turn ambiguous challenges into practical solutions.

💰 Salary: CAD $160,000 - $210,000/year (depending on experience)
