Manager, Project Delivery

The Manager, Project Delivery, is responsible for leading the successful delivery of a portfolio of technology initiatives, with a primary focus on technology-enabled transformation, process improvement and operational readiness. Reporting to the Director, People & Culture Technology (Portfolio & Delivery), this role brings structure, discipline and transparency to project execution from intake and planning through implementation, transition to operations and benefits realization.

Working across business functions, technology teams and external partners, the Manager serves as a trusted delivery partner, translating business priorities into executable plans, coordinating resources and dependencies, and ensuring effective governance, risk management and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This role also helps establish and continuously improve the project delivery practice for the function, including governance, standards, tools, reporting and resource-capacity management.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Project and Program Delivery

Lead multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closeout, using the delivery approach best suited to the work, including Waterfall, Agile and hybrid methods.

Define project scope, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, assumptions, success measures and acceptance criteria in partnership with sponsors and business owners.

Develop and actively maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans and delivery forecasts.

Coordinate end-to-end delivery across discovery, requirements, design, build or configuration, testing, change readiness, deployment, hypercare and transition to operations.

Facilitate project meetings and working sessions, ensuring clear decisions, actions, owners and due dates.

Proactively identify delivery risks, issues and blockers; lead resolution and escalate in a timely manner when decisions or intervention are required.

Ensure deliverables meet agreed quality standards and that project outcomes remain aligned to the approved business case and intended employee or business value.

Portfolio Governance and Reporting

Support the intake, assessment and prioritization of initiatives based on strategic alignment, business value, risk, urgency, dependencies and available capacity.

Maintain an accurate view of the assigned project portfolio, including health, milestones, financials, resources, risks, issues, decisions and interdependencies.

Prepare concise, decision-oriented reporting for project sponsors, governance forums and senior leaders, with clear visibility into progress, variances, trade-offs and required actions.

Establish and maintain project-level risk, issue, action and decision logs, while consolidating material items for portfolio-level governance.

Track project outcomes, benefits and lessons learned to support accountability and continuous improvement.

Resource and Capacity Management

Partner with functional leaders and delivery teams to forecast resource demand and understand available capacity across the portfolio.

Identify resource conflicts, capability gaps and sequencing constraints; develop options and recommendations to support prioritization and delivery decisions.

Coordinate internal resources, consultants and vendors across functions, regions and time zones, ensuring clear roles, commitments and handoffs.

Balance project demand with operational priorities and other in-flight initiatives, escalating capacity risks before they affect delivery.

Delivery Practice and Continuous Improvement

Help build and mature a consistent project delivery practice, including stage gates, governance routines, common templates, delivery standards and role clarity.

Develop and maintain practical project artifacts such as charters, plans, status reports, RAID logs, decision logs, resource plans, test plans, cutover plans and closure reports.

Promote fit-for-purpose delivery methods that provide appropriate control without creating unnecessary administration.

Coach project participants and business leads on delivery expectations, decision rights, governance and effective use of project tools.

Use delivery data and lessons learned to improve planning accuracy, execution quality and stakeholder experience.

Stakeholder, Vendor and Financial Management

Build trusted relationships with project sponsors, business leaders, TID partners, functional subject-matter experts and regional stakeholders.

Translate complex delivery information into clear messages, options and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.

Manage vendor and consulting-partner delivery against contracted scope, milestones, quality expectations, budget and responsibilities.

Support statements of work, estimates, purchase orders, invoices, financial forecasting and project budget tracking in partnership with Procurement and Finance.

Create alignment across stakeholders, surface decisions early and resolve conflicts constructively.

Change Readiness and Operational Transition

Partner with business owners and change leads to integrate communications, training, stakeholder engagement and adoption activities into project plans.

Ensure business readiness, support models, operational ownership, documentation and knowledge transfer are addressed before go-live.

Coordinate UAT planning and execution, defect triage, deployment readiness, cutover and hypercare activities.

Support post-implementation reviews and stabilization, ensuring outstanding actions are transitioned to accountable operational owners.

What You Bring:

Education and Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile or comparable project delivery certification preferred.

Change management certification, such as Prosci, is considered an asset.

Experience

3+ years of project or program delivery experience managing cross-functional initiatives.

Experience delivering business and/or technology projects from planning through implementation and operational transition.

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a matrixed environment.

Experience delivering projects related to enterprise applications, HR technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, system development, integrations, or other technology-enabled business solutions.

Experience working with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and external partners to achieve project objectives.

Experience with Workday or other enterprise platforms is an asset.

Experience with project governance, reporting, budgeting, resource coordination, and risk management.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Working knowledge of project management practices, including scope, schedule, risk, resource, and stakeholder management.

Experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches.

Proficiency with project management tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Ability to prepare project status reports, dashboards, and stakeholder communications.

Working knowledge of business analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and implementation support.

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 20 York Mills Road, Toronto, Ontario
