Business Analyst

Performance Improvement & Fractional COO Practice

We are looking for a Business Analyst to work directly with our partners on operational improvement, business planning and advisory engagements. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how experienced operators assess challenges, make decisions and help businesses improve.

You may map a client workflow, analyze performance, research a growth opportunity, support a strategic plan or coordinate an implementation project. You will work on real client challenges, take ownership of deliverables and develop skills across strategy, operations and execution.

What you'll do

Business Assessments & Strategy

• Support current state assessments, stakeholder interviews, research, strategic plans and business plans.

• Analyze operational and financial information to identify performance gaps and quantify improvement opportunities.

• Prepare clear client ready reports, presentations, action plans and recommendations.

Operations, Systems & Implementation

• Map workflows, document processes and identify opportunities to improve systems, accountability and efficiency.

• Help evaluate technology, reporting tools, automation and practical process improvements.

• Coordinate implementation activities, track deliverables and follow up with clients to keep projects moving.

Planning, Financing & Client Support

• Assist with business plans, feasibility studies, financial projections and financing packages, working with the finance team where specialized accounting is needed.

• Support acquisition, transition and growth projects through research, analysis and coordination.

• Participate in client meetings and site visits; manage information requests, meeting actions and deadlines.

• Help improve FourX templates, research processes and tools, including practical uses of AI and automation.

What you bring

• Post secondary education in business, finance, operations, accounting or a related field, with approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in business analysis, operations, consulting, project coordination, strategy or process improvement.

• Strong Excel, research, writing and presentation skills, with the ability to organize incomplete information.

• Comfort reading financial statements and using data to understand business performance; advanced accounting expertise is not required.

• Initiative, practical problem solving, attention to detail and confidence communicating with owners and teams.

Assets: Process mapping, project management, financial modelling, Power BI, systems implementation, AI or automation tools, and experience with SMEs or First Nations organizations.
