Jumbo Canada About Jumbo Jumbo is one of Europe's leading toy and home-goods retailers, with a large-format store network across Greece and Southeast Europe. We are launching Jumbo in Canada, with our first store opening at Vaughan Mills. This is a rare chance to build a buying function from the ground up.

The Role Reporting to the General Manager, you will build and own Jumbo Canada's locally sourced assortment across all categories. It complements the range supplied through Jumbo Greece. The scope covers toys, baby, home and more. The scope will expand as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Identify, onboard and manage Canadian vendors and distributors across all categories, starting with major toy brands, publishers and book distributors.
• Develop the local assortment strategy by category, deciding what to source locally versus through Jumbo Greece, and balancing price points, brand mix and seasonality.
• Partner with planning and store teams on allocation, replenishment and in-store presentation.
• Benchmark competitor pricing and assortment 
• Ensure products meet Canadian regulatory requirements, including CCPSA, bilingual labelling and Health Canada toy regulations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of buying experience in Canadian retail across multiple categories, ideally in toys, juvenile, home, seasonal or general merchandise.
• An existing network with Canadian toy vendors and/or book distributors is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, including OTB, margin calculation, sell-through and advanced Excel.
• Startup mindset: comfortable building processes from scratch in a fast-paced
