Typical Day in Role:

Support Senior Manager, Product Owner to help define a product’s release and iteration backlog based on product’s overall vision and input from business SMEs, customer experience and the agile team
Understand and articulate the product’s vision, including its objectives, value proposition, and key risks associated with opportunities/ideas.
Collaborate with SMEs and other Product Owners to assess how features will impact the end-user and how to effectively manage them.
Develop product roadmap and high-level backlog, further decomposed into releases which deliver significant value to the end user.
Prioritize (and continuously reprioritize) delivery based on the calculated benefits/value of identified features/epics.
Act as primary reviewer and approver of finished development work during iteration demos/reviews based on established acceptance criteria.
Align the definitions, scope and roadmap with the different workstreams related to the product development.

Actively collaborate and engage with the agile team

Attend planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, iteration reviews and other team meetings to verify that the output of the team is consistently delivering business value and aligned with the agreed upon commitments.
Shield the team from interruptions and outside interference by acting as a conduit between the business and the team.
Lead the creation of user stories, assist with the development and supporting documentation with applicable acceptance criteria.
Decompose larger objectives or journeys (“epics”) into features and user stories that can be understood and committed to by members of the team.
Participate in iteration planning discussions to reduce ambiguity around the user stories and ensure clarity, optimize functionality, and define features that align with product vision.
Support the team by being available to provide definitions required to complete detailed user stories.
Advocate for the highest attainable levels of quality and for approaches that will minimize the impact of technical debt on the product and organization.
Utilize SMEs – including team members – to assist in the validation of epics and user stories as well as other activities such as user experience testing.

Make decisions about the product’s direction

Define features, themes and epics in suitable levels of detail and prioritize them based on their respective business value.
Establish and communicate product vision with key stakeholders and business owners, using customer research and available reporting and analysis to provide an economic justification for key decisions.
Review the output of the agile team at the end of every iteration, and before the product is released into the market, to ensure that it meets expectations.
Ensure full awareness of market and trends in the business environment through effective communication with stakeholders; using research and available analysis to help inform ideas.
Contribute to discussions on solutions and execute assigned priorities with consideration and awareness of potential impact on other initiatives (the organization’s overall Product / Portfolio Backlog).

Contribute to building organizational capability and expertise on agile adoption
Communicate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the development team (Stakeholders, Executives), acting as a champion of the agile methodology.
Partner with the Agile Coach and other agile teams to share findings, best practices, and resources to help mature the organization’s agility.

Must Have Skills:

8+ years of progressive experience in product management or product development, preferably within financial services, payments, digital channels, or fintech environments

5+ years of experience contributing to the end‑to‑end delivery of digital products, from discovery through launch and iteration

4+ years of experience working in a structured delivery or project environment, with familiarity across the full project lifecycle

Bilingual in Spanish

Strong understanding of software technologies and iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies

Nice-To-Have Skills:

Master’s degree or MBA considered an asset
Jira/Confluence experience
Figma
Mural

Soft Skills Required:

Collaborative team player who values diverse perspectives and leads with humility and confidence
Takes ownership and accountability for outcomes, with a strong “can‑do” mindset
Comfortable working in flat, cross‑functional teams, influencing through reasoning and persuasion rather than authority
Demonstrates high emotional intelligence, including self‑awareness, empathy, and adaptability
Thrives in ambiguity, embraces change, and is comfortable moving forward without all the answers
Continuously seeks improvement, feedback, and opportunities to tackle complex problems
Consistently advocates for and delivers on customer needs and expectations
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, with proven ability to influence management and cross‑functional teams
Strong cross‑cultural collaboration skills, with experience working across regions and geographies
Acts as a role model in representing the business and serving as the voice of the customer
Demonstrated track record of building productive relationships across multiple organizational groups
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform effectively in high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environments
Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem‑solving capabilities
Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, with a passion for continuous learning and skill development
Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships, balancing diverse business interests to build alignment, confidence, and consensus
Strong prioritization skills grounded in business value, customer impact, and economic rationale
Proven ability to break down strategic initiatives into epics and user stories, enabling effective planning, delivery, and iteration within corporate constraints

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field
