What You Will Do:

The Senior Manager of the Transitional Housing Program (THP) will be responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of Fred Victor’s Transitional Housing Program at 145 Queen St East. This program provides 20 units of transitional rent geared to income housing, case management support and programming to single adults who are living on low incomes and are experiencing homelessness and who are experiencing active substance use issues.

The Senior Manager of THP will implement a model that reflects the principles of community development, harm reduction, trauma informed care, Housing First, eviction prevention and fosters tenant involvement. The preferred candidate will excel in providing effective services for residents who and in coaching and assisting staff to manage the day-to-day challenges that the residents and the programs encounter.

What You Bring to the Team:

2 years’ experience in managing housing in a not-for-profit setting
2 years’ experience supervising, managing, evaluating, training and coaching staff in a unionized environment
Extensive experience with case management models and low barrier approaches to care

Extensive experience working with people who have experienced homelessness and poverty and the discrimination facing this community
Extensive experience working with people who come from diverse racial, gender, ethnic and cultural backgrounds who have experienced varying degrees of mental health, social isolation and substance use.
Thorough understanding of systemic issues that impact low-income tenants
Highly developed skills in community development and team building
Proven financial and budgeting skills.

Extensive experience working with people who are homeless, who have histories of homelessness and/or who are living in deep poverty
Extensive knowledge of community-based resources
Proven ability to work from a trauma informed, client-centered, harm reduction and housing first approach.
Working knowledge of palliative care approaches
Working knowledge of restorative and transformative justice approaches
Extensive advocacy, crisis intervention, prevention, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Proven ability to challenge organization, staff and tenant communities in a positive and creative way to effect better service.
Experience in supportive service coordination, collaboration and working with multidisciplinary teams
Highly developed ability to plan and prioritise work
Ability to be part of the on-call rotation and ability to work afternoon, evenings and weekends as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

For the Senior Manager, THP, Fred Victor offers a salary range of $80,164.50 - $100,191.00
4 weeks of vacation to start + 1 float day
Generous paid sick leave allowance
A comprehensive Dental, Extended Health and LTD group benefits package includes individual and family coverage, including prescriptions, hospital accommodation, hearing care, paramedical practitioners and a wide variety of dental care. Additional insurance includes vision care and travel for emergency medical services.
6.5 % of your gross salary will be contributed to a group RRSP on your behalf after successful completion of probation; you will contribute 4% of your gross salary to the same RRSP
