Help Build the Future of the Arts in FrederictonThe Fredericton Playhouse is entering an exciting new chapter as we prepare to move into the Hawkes Centre for the Arts in 2027. We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to help connect our community with the performing arts.
Responding to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will contribute across email communications, field marketing, show promotion, client relations, social media, and major campaigns.
This is a hands-on role that combines creative thinking with the practical, behind-the-scenes work that keeps our marketing running smoothly. We are looking for a resourceful individual who enjoys that variety, takes pride in getting the details right and is just as comfortable tackling routine tasks as they are contributing fresh ideas.
A flexible schedule is provided by the organization in response to the overtime required occasionally.
Key Responsibilities:- Email marketing: Build, proof and schedule email campaigns, ensuring communications are accurate and engaging.
- Field marketing: Help plan and deliver promotional events and community outreach activities, including staffing booths, distributing materials, putting up posters and engaging with the public.
- Show promotion: Coordinate promotional materials, create partnerships with local businesses, and support marketing plans that help audiences discover upcoming performances.
- Social media: Create, schedule and monitor on-brand content across social channels, while contributing ideas that invite conversation and connection.
- Campaign coordination: Support the many moving pieces behind integrated campaigns.
- Season Launch: Assist with communications, content, logistics and promotional activity for our annual season launch.
- Client relations: Communicate clearly and professionally with rental clients, gather information and assets, and help keep promotional timelines on track.
- Team support: Collaborate across departments, contribute ideas and pitch in where needed in a busy live performance environment.
- Attention to detail: You take pride in producing accurate, polished work
- Organization and reliability: You can juggle competing priorities, follow established processes and meet deadlines without losing sight of the details.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving: You're comfortable finding answers, learning new tools and figuring things out
- Analytical mindset: You have an interest in learning from results
- Communication skills: You can write clear, engaging copy and communicate professionally with colleagues, clients and community partners.
- Initiative and adaptability: You take ownership of your work, enjoy pursuing new ideas independently, and are willing to roll up your sleeves to help wherever needed.
Because this is an entry-level position, we welcome early-career applicants and candidates whose experience comes from school, volunteer work, community projects, internships or other transferable settings.
What We Offer:This is a rare opportunity to build your career while helping the Fredericton Playhouse prepare for an exciting new chapter: the transition to the Hawkes Centre for the Arts. Your work will help welcome audiences, support artists and strengthen the role of live performance in our community.
