Role Description

This is a full-time, intermediate-level Functional Consultant role within our Customer Onboarding group. The successful candidate will be a key contributor on greymatter and Signal implementations by guiding customers from discovery through configuration, validation, training, and adoption. Success in this role means helping customers translate their business objectives into practical product solutions and realize measurable value from their investment.

The Functional Consultant combines CRM expertise, business analysis, technical aptitude, training capability, and consultative communication. You will facilitate discovery with internal and customer stakeholders, understand current processes and desired outcomes, and translate those needs into clear business and functional requirements. Working with solution architects, Product, and Engineering, you will recommend how greymatter and Signal capabilities, configuration, workflows, integrations, and data should be used to achieve the customer’s objectives. You will maintain requirements and decisions throughout the project lifecycle, validate that deliverables meet agreed expectations, and communicate product fit, trade-offs, and limitations clearly.

The Functional Consultant is tasked to work on Projects involving the onboarding of our customers on to Foundry's award-winning Higher Education and Public sector CRM Solutions. A trained Functional Consultant will need to be extremely knowledgeable in Foundry's Product, be a CRM functional expert, have a comprehensive understanding of the higher education industry, challenges and opportunities and be comfortable managing client relationships and project success.

The Functional Consultant forms the key bridge between Foundry and the Customer being able to translate product capabilities to the Customer and put forward customer needs to the Product & Engineering team for consideration.

Qualifications

3+ years of proven business analysis experience
3+ years of experience in defining Business Requirements and Processes
Previous experience as a Functional Consultant, Application Engineer or Business Applications specialist with a Business Applications solution (ERP, CRM etc.)
Extensive understanding of data models, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Business Process Modeling
Ability to manage the requirements-elicitation process with internal and external clients of varying technical skills, and directs the clients to solutions consistent with satisfying their key business objectives
3+ years of experience with prototyping tools such as Moqups, Figma Balsamiq and Visio
3+ years of experience in documenting business and functional requirements
Ability to train non-technical users on business application software
Ability to perform Quality Assurance Testing
Fluent and articulate communicator
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field
