What You Will Be Doing
Manage the shipping processes for your region, ensuring that vendors are adequately notified of shipping needs, that shipments are packed neatly and completely and labeled properly, and that drivers load correctly and are equipped with everything they need to complete delivery routes successfully.
Create and foster relationships not only with our drivers, but also with the Dispatch and Delivery Success teams.
Directly supervise a small team of employee drivers and will liaise with and performance manage a larger team of owner-operator contractor drivers. You will screen and onboard new driver candidates as needed with the support of your manager.
Create and publish the driver schedule each week.
Continuously monitor delivery efficiency and facilitate communication between drivers and customers where needed.
Perform Performance Reviews for the team members under your supervision.
Monitoring and reporting on delivery KPIs.
Provide dispatch support when needed. This will include relaying work orders, messages, and information from Customer Service to drivers, occasionally calling customers, and helping drivers resolve issues on the road.
What We Are Looking For
The Logistics Supervisor is a self-starter who takes ownership over their work environment. They are always looking for opportunities to improve the way we do things - whether through reporting, interpersonal leadership, or developing new processes. They remain calm under pressure and work through challenges with a positive and solutions-focused attitude. They are able to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide variety of people, and are able to manage interpersonal conflict in a respectful and service-oriented manner.
2 - 4 years of related work experience in a shipping, delivery, or warehouse environment.
Minimum 1 years of experience in a supervisory role; experience leading team members from a variety of backgrounds is an asset.
Excellent command of spoken and written French, with strong English communication skills required to support employees and colleagues across Fresh Prep offices in Canada.
A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Able to lift 15 - 30lb in the course of work, stand and walk for portions of the day, and push and pull wheeled racks.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional time management skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Ability to adapt and formulate new plans as contingencies arise.
Self-motivated, with leadership skills and a high energy outlook.
Strong written communication skills.
Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures; some spreadsheet experience is an asset.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and work ethic.
Able to work a consistent Saturday to Wednesday schedule with occasional overtime as needed.
What You Can Expect
Salary of $65,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience.
Work onsite from our HQ in Ville-Saint-Laurent.
