JOB OVERVIEW
The Methods Agent standardizes, improves, and raises the quality and certification output of existing and future shop processes and repairs at FTAI Aviation Montreal.
Standardization means working alongside shop floor employees to develop sustainable processes and practices that deliver consistent quality regardless of the operator's experience level. Because processes, parts, and repairs vary in maturity - and some operations demand more attention than others - the Methods Agent continuously raises repair procedures and processes to a higher standard, equalizing maturity across the shops.
Quality and certification output go hand in hand: when operations are performed right the first time and rework is eliminated, parts move faster through the shop cells and certification output increases.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and optimize current and new manufacturing processes across production cells including but not limited to welding, thermal spray, water jet, NDT, and sheet metal.
- Collaborate with shop floor personnel and cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Planning) to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
- Conduct time studies and process evaluations to identify improvement opportunities, including resequencing, to reduce cycle time, material waste, and cost.
- Support new part and repair introductions and process changes by developing special process parameters, selecting tooling, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Develop and maintain setup sheets and tool lists that are clear, accurate, and accessible to shop floor personnel.
- Evaluate tooling, fixture, and equipment needs, working with tool design and shop floor employees to implement solutions for each production area.
- Partner with Quality and Engineering to maintain high product quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.
- Provide technical support for First Article Inspections (FAI) and ongoing inspections.
