Engineering Intern – Gas Turbine Engine Maintenance Tooling Designer
Location: Montreal, Quebec
ABOUT FTAI AVIATION LTD. (NASDAQ: FTAI)
FTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on CFM56 and V2500 engines. FTAI’s propriety portfolio of products, including the Module Factory and a joint venture to manufacture engine PMA, enables it to provide cost savings and flexibility to our airline, lessor, and maintenance, repair, and operations customer base. Additionally, FTAI owns and leases jet aircraft which often facilitates the acquisition of engines at attractive prices. FTAI invests in aviation assets and aerospace products that generate strong and stable cash flows with the potential for earnings growth and asset appreciation.
FTAI operates globally and has offices in New York, Miami, Montréal, Singapore. Dubai, United Kingdom and Ireland.
Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Tooling Engineering Student who can join our team and commit to an 8-month internship.
If you are passionate about aviation, mechanical systems, and hands-on problem-solving, we’d love to meet you! Join FTAI Aviation’s Repair Team and make a direct impact in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
The tooling department is responsible for creating tools and fixtures that support both production (gas turbine engine disassembly, inspection, reassembly and test), as well as piece-part repair (machining, grinding, thermal spray, coating, welding, brazing and many more). Many tools are both designed and manufactured internally in our fully equipped machine shop. Tools must be designed to meet the high precision required by aerospace applications. The tooling team is growing and is investing in new technologies such as additive manufacturing (i.e. 3D printing) and optical scanners to accelerate the design of tooling. As an intern, you will support our tooling and engineering teams in a variety of hands-on and design-related tasks, while gaining valuable industry experience.
Responsibilities
FTAI Aviation is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity in the workplace. We are committed to excellence in serving all customers, including people with disabilities, and we encourage feedback on the provision of these services .
Language Requirements In Quebec
Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec.
